  1. His return will be when we're in the 'Twobob this summer and he'll be crocked by Oct.

Hopefully he'll not be at the club then.

If we continue to play him as a first team striker - even if he is 3rd choice - Roeder will prove himself to be a bigger cunt that Souness when it comes to shite players.

  2.                                                                            Given

    Solano                 Gooch                                                                   Taylor                           Edgar

    Milner                    Butt                                                                      Emre                            N'Zogbia

                                 Owen                                                                      Martins

Subs: Krul, Moore, Sibierski, Parker, Dyer

top 4 team IMO when all on form.

take away edgar and insert a half decent LB maybe.

Seems to me an intelligent, hard working player who needs first team opportunities. To say the very least he shits all over baba. We probably do need a new left back, but I don't think we should splash the cash on someone fairly young and expensive. Cheap and experienced to fill the gap till Edgar is ready to step in as a week on week regular who won't cost too much.

I do like Edgar, however he's no more a left back than Taylor is a right back, square pegs in round holes and all that.

A square peg is still better than a shite Babayaro.

  3. I'm with nufc_geordie and the 'vibe' i got is that we are papering over the cracks.  But everyone is entitled to their opinions. Having said that I'm very proud of the result and credit needs to be given where deserved. Regarding Babayaro, I thought had a pretty solid game - there was one moment when Bellamy went past him and he just lunged at him and i thought 'oh crap' - but besides that moment he was solid and kept that side in control.

Big ups to GR for the win - but I would still like him replaced with someone with more stature in the offseason so we can compete with Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal etc

Aye, I'm sure merely changing the manager would achieve that!

    Yeah I think it would.

I think GR is doin a decent job - especially in rebuilding the club.

BUT - i don't think he is capable of winning the league or being up there with the bigger clubs.  Just the feeling I get.  I believe someone with a winning track record and reputation would take us to greater heights. But yeah - right now, well done GR - and may you keep proving me wrong.

Rebuilding the club?? Thats absolutely ridiculous.

What I'm sayin is pretty simple:

GR is doing a DECENT job interim but I want a manager who will make the club compete with Man U, Chelsea etc and honestly I can't see GR doing that.

Anyway, good performance saturday from all the lads (inc. babayaro BUT NOT Bramble) - Brilliant result.

He's keeping the seat warm, but how anyone can say he is rebuilding is insane.

  4. Ramage is a better left back than babayaro.

That's some statement right there. Personally I don't think there's a less gifted player at the club than Ramage. The only area in which he possibly betters Babayaro is in effort, which 9 times out of 10 counts for fuck all on its own.

I disagree, but hey ho. I think Ramage is our 4th worst defender.

  5. no,this was the post

I wouldn't mention n'zogbia as being deserving of a midfield slot at this time. He has as much chance of being a one season wonder as making it as a consistent premier league player based on his performances prior to his injury.

Which have been FAR better than Duff, the only genuine contender for that position.

claearly sniffer thinks,as i do,that n'zogbia has been as bad as duff this season, you don't like him, didn't want us to sign him and as such compare him unfavourably to n'zogbia.

this isn't a question of wether we were right to sign duff but a question of how the team has faired on the left hand side of midfield.

i notice its gone from "FAR" better to "as good if not better."

i say the have both been poor, milner playing best out of who we've used on the left.

    No, you misunderstand. Again.

Teh Zog as a one seaon wonder was what i was referring to, and a response to the "before injury" comment - i was talking about not just this season.

Also, i was not talking about Duff when i said "as good if not better". But hey, don't let that stop you from jumping to half-assed conclusions to back up some pre-conceptions of people's opinions that you know fuck all about. Good lad.

  6. i'd rather not, such is the paucity of his ability.

Ramage is worse there imo, would still like to see Edgar given a few more games there though.

I don't think Ramage IS worse there. He's not a natural, comfortable lb, obviously, but he's better than the utter piece of wank that Babayaro has been for the vast majority of the games he's played.

  7. Baba isn't that bad a player imo. Highly average not to great going forward and not to great at defending but he is fairly reliable not to play like Carr and Bramble.

He's not average, he's shite. But he gets the vote for being left footed??

Do you think there's currently a better left-back at the club? Obviously he's not good enough long term but he should be played until the end of the season and hopefully be kept as backup beyond that.

Ramage is a better left back than babayaro. He's absolutely fucking terrible. As a left back, he makes a good bookend.

Positioning, pace, tackling, awareness. All utter, utter shite.

hate glasses on there...duff and n'zogbia were equally as bad before charles injury.

    "hate glasses"? Wind it in.

I thought Duff would be great (but not as needed as other players would have been had Roeder not been an arsehole) when he came. But he's been very poor overall.

The Zog was our best outfield player last season.

thought we were talking about this season before zog' injury ?

No,we weren't. We were talking about the chances of him being a one season wonder. His performances this season were not as good as his first, but still as good if not better when it comes to end results than some players who get their proverbial cocks sucked on here regularly.

  12. Unless Owen completely breaks down again I can't see why he wouldn't be the same goalscorer tbh. He's not had that searing pace for a few years now and he's still scored goals, it's natural for him. He's kind of the opposite of Bellamy. ;)

Seriously though, it's his instincts and movement that do it for him now, lots of people always thought he was just about pace (and in his younger days he was lightning) but that's a long time ago now. As i've said before, I hope that Owen's movement creates space for Martins. If those two can get even a basic understanding going opposition defenders will be shitting themselves IMO.

    I agree.

a lot depends on the supply.

True, so it'll hinge a lot on shifting Parker, especially if the team accomodates Owen, Martins, Dyer and Zog. They'll spend half the match being offside by the time he releases the ball.

I noticed in another thread where people are picking their best team that there are still loads of Parker/Emre partnership supporters. Amazing really.

Far from the best partnership, clearly.

Best central partnership is currently Parker and Dyer, but ideally, Parker and A N Other.

  13. you happy now HTL?  :uglystupid2:

Aye, I'm happy. My team won, Bellamy was plagued by bad luck otherwise he'd have scored 4. Imagine him in our team playing alongside Martins instead of Dyer, something Newcastle fans would be over the moon about if it happened. Owen for Bellamy this summer maybe?

By the way, using :uglystupid2: doesn't make it any less abusive than using the words.  No need.

wasn't bad luck, just thats the way it is with bellamy,he done that time and again for us.he's not a good consistent finisher.

i'd rather see owen and martins first.

Not a lot between Martins and Bellamy, really.

different types of player, bellamy does a bit more, martins scores more, bellamy is probably at the top of his game, martins (i feel) has a lot more potential to fulfill.

That last bit is very subjective (and fair enough, of course). I'd personally take either of them in my team, two fine players i feel.
