  1. With you on that.

Millwall should be coughing up on this one or find themselves out of the cup.

Bunch of arsholes Millwall fans are, shame we couldn't just delete the club permanently out of our leagues.

    Oh yes.

My league football scores checking every weekend goes:

    Sun'lun - obvious

MK Dons - hope they got well beaten

Millwall - hope they got well beaten

Grimsby - hope they did ok

  2. If Charlton are anywhere remotely near the relegation zone, they won't let Darren Bent go.

A more realistic target is Marcus Bent, who could do a fill-in job for us for a few months, assuming a big money signing is out of the quesiton.

The trouble is Marcus seems as goal shy as our lot. We might as well go for Jason Euell.

I doubt Charlton'll let Darren Bent go full stop, although if they did it would improve their chances of getting relegated, which benefits us. It'd take a big pile of cash, but I think given our current predicament it'd well spent.

Like Darren Bent would leave Charlton to come here, if we are still close to the bottom come Jan then forget it, he may leave Charlton but it wont be to come here.

True but we can offer him rolls royce wages :winking:

    bluelaugh.gif

Aye we can but I think if he was after massive wages he would not be at Charlton now.

Charlton are very unlikely to let him go, given that they are in a relegation scrap, and certainly not to Newcastle, who (at the moment, but probably not in January) who are amongst the teams scrapping with them.

It is hard to do anything in the January window, struggling teams need to hold on to their best players, teams doing well want to keep on doing well.

So you are expecting for them to have pulled away from us by then? Cos with Roeder, i can't see far past us still being there.

  3. The guy would be nothing but a problem, worse than Bellamy! I'd say he would so bad with his attitude that he would start an argument with his own shadow, so no thanks!

110% bullshit, the only similarity between the 2 players mentioned is they both have huge passion on the field! As mentioned Smith doesn't even drink when out, don't think he has ever been reported for any bother and seems like a very professional person.

    Incorrect iirc.

  4. i still don't get it,he hit a POST, in the middle of training!?

First of all, what kind of training ground have posts near training, unless kerion ment a goal post, either ways, how did he not see it:S!

Never mind that, kerion is  a big player,he is one of those who played a part in our bobby robson brilliant team, his luck is really bad,he always gets injured for reasons such as his running style ruined his muscles,he hit a post!,etc..

lets just hope he can stay fit,we really need him now,and lets hope he shows us every reason to give him a first team place.

He's not a big player. He just thinks he is.

  5. According to sportinglife.com David Dunn and Matthew Upson will be leaving Birmingham in the January Window.. If Upson didnt cost too much then I think he would be worth a punt even if Roeder dismissed the idea a few weeks ago that we were after him

Dunn wasnt bad 3-4 years ago for Blackburn..  Dont think we need him anyway

Upson would improve us automatically. Agreed about Dunn, though.

  6. Haven't checked all the way through the thread as it's far too long now, but what do people think of bringing Alan Smith to the club. It's mentioned in the papers and other sites today, if we can get him on the cheap I'd say go for it but then again it's another one with injoury worries.

He's a very average Premiership striker - therefore better than ANYTHING we have anywhere near fitness at this point.

  7. Roeders answer to our desperate need for a striker (as we had NO top class strikers at all once Owen was injured) was to not play (and then to compound the matter) not SELL Luque, insist on playing Ameobi, a fella who isn't Premiership class when he's fit, never mind now, sign a kid from Man Utd who will be good in a few years - for 6 months, pay nowt for a player who is simply not good enough in Sibierski that we are now going to rely on, and sign a player who is very very quick, but not actually a very good striker, in Martins.

Mind, his response to our DESPERATE need for a centre back was to sign a winger we didn't need. So it could have been worse.

    Roeder - idiot.

  8. Regardless of nearly losing his sight, it's one sob story after another with him.  He should shut the **** up, and get on with things.

    No but he's been really really ill; and he WANTS to come back and play; loves the club/fans/etc; international class; desperately bad luck; not his fault, its a top secret illness; and he's had a baby, so he's all mature now; match winner tbh;

  9. If he is just average I dont understand why the Man City players were too afraid to tackle him and why he alone could threat the Man City defence the way he did. Remember that Man City has played some real good defending at home so far this season...

Its the pace. Defenders hate pace, and he still has that. Also, bizarrely, his ffet seem to move very fast - he runs quite quick, but seems to move his feet even faster.

He IS only average, thought. All the pace in the world, but little end product.

Liek i say, though, beggars can't be choosers.

  10. At best we can hope Given, Parker, Martins, Moore, Baba and Taylor are fit for this one.

If we are without them then this is going to be a thrashing.

    Championship players.

If Babayaro plays, he'll get taken to bits.

  11. Klinsmann is not "available", he's in America and going to stay there..

Well, California or Newcastle, tough call :D

There are lots of talented, upcoming managers.. It's just that Freddy won't ever appoint someone like that, it will be Curbishley, Bryan Robson, Venables, Glenn Hoddle type of choice.

    I fear it will.

    Robson, probably.

Shepherd managed to bring in a worse football manager than Souness when he got Roeder (although less of a twat, clearly), so the next logical step would be Robson.

  12. I'd like to see proper costings on how much it would take to buy the club, get rid of the deadwood (Luque, Shambles, Dire, etc), and invest in a squad with actual players.

I suspect it would be a damned sight more than anyone with any brains would pay for a relegation team.

  13. Roeder is an absolute cretin.

The vast majority of our "first team" is not good enough for a team with aspirations of the top half of the premiership.

Dyer comes on and "improves us" by running fast then wasting the opportunity. Shame he didn't hurt himself again yet.

We are an absolute shower of shite, and we fully deserve to be where we are - genuine relegation candidates.

Under Roeder, we will NEVER get into Europe again.
