Yeh man, i agree with you, i was agaisnt Allardyce getting too much money in the Jan window anyway cos i didnt think he'd proved anyhting with the players he'd signed anyway, however a player like Diarra maybe could of given the midfield a bit of stregnth. Its hard to disagree with peole saying that if Allardyce had signed more players to which would of fitted his systembetter then we would of maybe suceeded a bit, however as it stands i still dont think the players are shit even though there performnaces have been woeful, i just think they have had all the confidence sapped out of them and need that first win to get a bit of solidarity in the ranks. We wouldn't have signed Diarra, he has ability. You think Geremi, Viduka and Smith have ability??? Come on!

Depends what you mean by average. He's not a Premiership player in a month of Sundays. I actually think he's a better-than-average player considering his work rate, physicality, decent all-around technique etc. Purely based on aggregate individual ability he's probably better than the average Premiership player. He just doesn't have a position. He can't play as a striker because Ferguson's failed experiment and a career-threatening injury completely ruined his goal-scoring instinct, can't play as an attacking midfielder because he doesn't have the vision, and can't play as a hard-tackling defensive midfielder because he was never properly programmed with the requisite defensive skillset. If he wants to be a valuable asset to any Premiership side, his best bet is to stay at Striker and train intensively in shooting so he can get that spark back. For now, he's a classic example of "jack of all trades, master of none." so very, very full of shit.

Thats the point, for gods sake. Wankers build these players up, then they turn out to be crap. How about we just wait and find out what he's like, then decide? Unlike we did with Cacapa, Viduka, etc. And yes, befoire that absolute cretin Baggio starts, with his pathetic stuck-record drone, i was all for Parker when he signed, thought he'd be ace. I've never seen him play for us, and I'm a season ticket holder In his defence, he did once try to make a pass. Before the ball was taken off him. Which puts Barton as slightly better than him now, having made TWO WHOLE worthwhile passes.

There is between those who go to the match and those who don't. The worst of the latter being the incredibly stupid cunts who think you get a better idea of the game from watching on tv, or that by listening to some shite radio commentary, you are qualified to comment on the game.

I've never thought of Enrique in midfield. I take your point about positive passing, but he doesn't really look like a potential midfield player to me. He's not afraid of taking responsibility though. I'd agree with what I think you're saying about Barton - he's the best we have at playing the defence-splitting pass, and he's therefore more difficult to replace than a lot of people think. He's fairly ambitious in what he tries and as a result he loses it quite often, but a couple of times on Saturday he played inch perfect passes first time which left Owen one on one. We don't look like scoring many from crosses or set pieces, however many we put in, and we really need that creativity down the centre. I don't have much doubt that Smith will be the replacement in midfield though. His passing is a lot better than he's given credit for, but obviously not as good as Barton's. Yes, Bartons 2 good passes so far have made him far better than Smith, with his none. Thankfully, they are both essentially crap, so we will hardly notice the difference.

Lua Lua. I can only assume that those who are saying Geremi haven't actually seen him play for us, certainly not live.

Attacking football without goalscorers would be bad enough. Attacking football without many players who are actually any good is even worse. And thats where we are now. On Saturday our only 'decent' attacking footballers were a winger who runs like he's in treacle, and a forward who appears to have his boots on the wrong feet.

what was said? Just excuses for every miss, almost as if getting there was enough. Nothing really, just wasn't harsh enough on him iyam. I'd rather miss them than not create them like. In fairness, Owen did better than any other forward we have would have been able to do, just by getting in those positions. That's fair enough. Still should have done better with them. Definately he should of, and thats not a defence of him. We'd be sat talking about how Martins never even gets in goalscoring positions if HE'D started instead of Owen.
