Find it hard to make a case against the rest. Kenedy/Ritchie alternatives at LWB, Shelvey/Ritchie/Atsu in the middle and Muto up top. If Muto hasn’t got that knock reckon the spot would be his, but he’s got some work to do now Perez is finding a bit of form again.

This could all just be the most elaborate wind-up yet, but the timing is interesting. It's not like companies change their Articles on a whim, and we know MA isn't a huge fan of wasting money. FWIW, done a quick scan of other notable clubs taken over in the past 10-15 years and there's no precedent for the Articles being changed prior to a takeover.

If there's no greater appetite for protest if Ashley is still here in February and Rafa has again had zero backing (and the contract remains unsigned), then at least we all know it's done and can go about our lives until the day he does sell (or die).
