Could also look at this "player Revolt" from another angle: The players have had enough of Ashley funcking them around and have decided that the only way to really Pee him off is to hurt him in his pocket which is all he seems to care about i.e. all of them seeing out their contracts so that we get the best out of our players and Ashley gets SFA.... I really do hate this set up now, selling our best players for a profit and then getting in younger players who might turn into stars just for them to be sold two to three years on when they actually fulfill that promise. We then pretend that we're bidding for potential stars (Gameiro/gervinho) and keep our hopes up... Somebody please bring back the days when we kept our star players and sold the shitty ones... Might just be that I'm really thick, but that does seem a more logical approach (football teams want to win games no)

If two of our most experienced prem players, biggest leaders on the pitch leave then we are truly funked! Ashley will not replace them with better players but just cheap freebies... Barca cheat week in week out! they do more ref baiting than any Man U team and get some outrageous decisions just cos' they're Barca. Defoe is quite one dimensional for me also, doesn't offer enough to the team and his game is based on his pace and box prowess. He would be a great signing for 7 or 8 million but Spurs will probably want 12+ for him, a price that I think we could do much better for in the french or spanish leagues...

I would go all out to get Sturridge, certainly looks the business! Add Nzogbia and a decent replacement left back and we can start filling squad places with obscure youngsters.... 22 million plus a couple of million on youngsters...
