We need to retain Barton at all cost, that "never say die" attitude could go missing in our midfield if we don't have him around, he does have a slick pass on him aswell. if we were to play 433 next season he would 100% be in the midfield three. Needs to shut his trap and erase the "twit" account he has...

Henderson reminds me a bit of Carrick, the way he passes the ball and how he moves. He deffo dissapears in games and is no use against a strong "in yer face" midfield. He's 50/50 for me, a huge gamble IMO, but I'm not Kenny Dalgleish either so... Fingers crossed that both Carrol and Henderson are really just one season wonders and they fail miserably...moaahhh mooaahh mooaahh!!

I should read my own sentiments at bottom of post before posting... bit of auto-indoctrination needed...Hiccup

So would Shola with a full season, so what's the difference...
-
He is cack, I only can recount the amount of sitters he misses rather than any decent goals he's scored....

Is this boy any good? What do the Swansea turds have to say? 90k a week (is that drachma?), if we pay him more than 20k a week I'd say Fat boy has finally lost it...
-
I am beginning to wonder if we really are in for any of these "big" players, seems to be a lot of "bidding" but for some reason we do not progress...Hhhhmmmmm!!
-
I like the Norwegian Shola comparison! It's not far off the mark tbh... Big NO from moi (getting into this francais..)!!

Looks like an upside down Christmas Tree a la Venables or a potent explosion tearing apart opposition teams...

I think Pardew will go for something like the above, nice defensive shield in front of the defence and 3 players capable of goals up front. Simpson---Colo---Tayls---Enrique (?) ----Barton----Tiote----Cabaye--- --------Benarfa------Jonas----- ----------------BA-------------- You deffo need the full backs to push on when attacking otherwise no width and relatively easy to defend against by filling the middle...
-
Smith IS A CHAMPIONSHIP`PLAYER. He'd be great at Leeds!
-
Deffo need another striker, right and left back and perhaps another defensive midfielder (Tiote and suspension plus any injuryb seriously weakens us...)

First ten games...WOW if we win at the gunners, off on a run...champs league here we come!!!!!! -
If Ashley's model is the following then I love it: Buy young promising players aged 20-26, who may have a year or two playing in established leagues. Buy established players (<30) on Frees or using buy out clause. We have to be a step up for them. Sell on at 29+, this is when we will get most money for them and when their value will start to diminish. Buy new replacement. REPEAT AND MAKE WEDGE **If this model is carried out successfully we WILL become the new Arsenal i.e. Up there at the top competing, but with a slight disadvantage.

BECOMING A BIT BIG FOR HIS BOOTS...YES

On the same note: (To the hong kong Phooey tune) Long John Demba, one legged super Guy Long John Demba, quicker than the human eye, He's got style, a footy style, and a shot that just won't stop. When the going gets tough, he's really rough With a long John Demba Chop! YES, IT'S FRIDAY...I'M BORED...LOL
-
I can see why all the fuss about his knee looking at that picture... we're buying Long John Demba!!!
-
I think the major difference between the two is PACE. Looks to me like Pards wants to inject some decent pace into the side and is getting rid of the average paced players and replacing them with players with more fizz. I would also probably prefer the gamble on Erding to Long, Erding has had a couple of great seasons and one crap season whilst Long has been mr average until last year... Just my 2pence worth.

That acceleration, suttle faint and close control...awesome! Needs to let go of the ball after beating the fourth player tho'

Hasn't Smudger joined the "mass exodus" yet? pleeeeeeeaaassseee!!

Yes, a bit of perspective is needed!! Only a month or so ago nobody wanted Nolan in the midfield whatsoever, with continual complaints of his lumbering around the pitch and that Guthrie, Barton, Taylor or Gosling would be a much better pairing for Tiote in the middle. As far as I am concerned he's not going to be greatly missed (footballing terms). Hopefully one of Cabaye/Ben Arfa/Gosling or evenb Guthrie might step up and fill his boots or at the minimum supply some much needed energy and bite. Somebody above mentioned that both he and Barton were being obstinate about signing their contract offers, I also think that Nolan would be well aware of other teams possible interest and his need for a five year contract is absurd at his age. Ashley is playing it perfectly here, sell em' when they still have some value! Can you imagine when Nolan hits 31-32, how immobile will he be FFS! I am happy with Cabaye for Nolan, think it's an improvement even though I haven't seen the froggy bloke play :) I would like the management to push for Enrique and barton staying, these two have a lot more worth to us IMO.

Another smokescreen if you ask me... Get some slovenian wonderkid that nobody's heard of, moan until we see him play and then warm up for the wankathon
-
Yep, those socks halfway up his calves... He's turned into a complete nerd, the transformation is incredible. P.S. Get a life Joey!
