Good little player and he works hard too, reminds me of a young Munitis (Racing Santander). I think he would fit ok into the prem as he has that aggressive nature aswell... Sell shola and get this guy, would be a x10 improvement!!

By the way, did anyone else notice that he played a couple of times down the right hand side and got in two great crosses, both first time aswell... Goes to show he may be better used on that side, if joey was injured or whatever!!

Off tandem but he's still much more efficient for us while on the right rather than in the middle... Seems to loiter on the ball a lot more in the middle and lose more possession (has more of it aswell I suopose...)

P.s. Thought Colo and Willi both looked panicky against defoe's pace...

Thought Jonas had his best game for a while, both full backs were good for us also. Ranger looked a handfull again and lovenkrands was unlucky with his one on one as their keeper made an outstanding save. Unlucky not to take the full three points although they completely dominated the first half, second we shaded I thought... A point we didn't expect is a good sign we are heading in the right direction.

I make an ammendment to my team set up as another thread reminded me of how overrun we were in midfield against this lot the last time. Take away best and put Guthrie into midfield to make a midfield five of: Barton--Guthrie--Nolan--Jonas ---------------Gosling---------

If Barton wasn't playing so well on the right I would say change the wing he plays on as he always is trying to get the ball back on his left foot which means he's often found out by the defender and doesn't get any first time ball in due to lack of confidence with right...

If we sold Carrol then you have to hold your hands up and say do i want to be part of this club any more? He's a geordie so you can actually relate to the bloke, he's homegrown talent and he's gonna be a great number 9 in the tradition we have of getting good ones... If Ashley sold him I would become totally disenchanted. His obvious flaw is his final ball, the rest of his game cannot be questioned. I would like to be bale to put someone out on the left just to give him the kick up the backside he looks to be needing!

IN ORDER OF PRIORITY: Striker (1) Winger (1) Make sure they are premiership class and we will be ok. i actually prefer Barton on the right wing, think he contributes more from there and is decent defensively. If we get gosling back in jan-feb, it's like a new signing for centre midfield so we are covered there. ben Arfa will cover fior left wing and as a second striker. Desperately need someone to help out Carrol or to sub for him. Van AArholt from chelsea would be a great signing, play him either at left back or left wing...

Our first team is just about acceptable and woyuld get us a mid table finish. our problem is when we have a couple of our first teamers missing... Perch was way out of position all game and backed off far too much, smith was just a raging bull in the middle, didn't do a lot wrong but didn't play any "football". I eagerly anticipate the return of ben Arfa, we need some quality ball into Carrol. I dread the day Carrol is injured or suspended for a ciouple of games, we have absolutely nothing in reserve there... As for the game, we put in a 100% effort but their quality was much better than ours, specially their wingers. Thier forward were controlled pretty well I thought. Also thought Krul was slow down on their first.

This is what I would do: ----------------Krul------------------- Simpson--Willi----Saylor-----Enrique Barton----Colo----Tiote----Jonas -------------Ranger---Carrol---- Put colo into midfield and give Tiote a bit more licence. Don't want Guthrie any where near the midfield, waste of space and too slow for the Prem.
