Thought haidara was cack today. Defensively he let just about everything through, really was amatuer. Ok going forward but is really crap in defense...

My major complaint is anita and colback together in the middle, should only be one of them at most. Will be happy to be proven wrong.

I am actually quite positive about the new season, my reasons being: -No charver or slimeball to rub me up the wrong way, before, during and after games -New manager who seems like he is actually speaking the truth, and has a reasonable grasp of the english language -We haven´t sold any of our top players -Signings look good (could do with 1 or 2 more? -Management team helping manager all look positive and non-nepotistic!

Village, what other cannel is it on in spain? I will be looking to watch it aswell... Does Yomvi show it?

The football we want to play, bringing it our from the back, suits Collo to a T, he is calm and collected when bringing the bal out and has the vision to pick out the correct pass. If mbemba, judging by the 20 mins we saw, is as good on the ball as we think, then all of a sudden we have a team capable of stoking the ball about and controlling games better. Colo is still a good player I think, just has had a season where even he probably saw that evrything, team, tactics and future all looked back, perhaps everyone is entitled to a bad one now and again. We have taylor for when we come up against monster centre forwards, so there is some tactical fall back

P.S. Forgot, I don't like his half hearted challenges (when he even attempts them) Just back up for the bench then...

I actually don't mind Obertan, he seems to try in games and occasionally conjures up some decent play, his pace scares defenders thus forcing them a little deeper so his influence on games, albeit indirect, is an advantage. In fairness, he should only be a bench player or competition for ayoze or aarons. Give him a chance, you never know?

I agree, he's solid, probably a level above Willo because he can pass the ball reasonably well. He is a good back up centre half or left back, we shouldn't be complaining. He is still only young so with experience will improve.

Quite amazing that he has most of the media duped aswell... He will be found out soon enough

Get him on from the start, only way to get his match fitness up to scratch, boy looks like he is well up for it aswell. Strikers generally don't have stinkers and he can't honetly be worse than Riviere

I would have thought (southampton game the exception) that willo will be behind Mbemba colo dummet taylor in that order...

Looks like we can say goodbye to signing another centre back in this window with Colo siging for another year. If taylor and colo can both stay fit, with dummet adding some pressure I am sure Mclaren cab find a decent pairing between Mbemba and one of those.

Just been on a southampton forum and the general consensus there is that our centre backs are crap and that if they run at us with pace they will crucify us, few mentions of williamson being a turd. just seems to sum up what all of us, and rest of pre league, can see that it is our weak point. They are also asking for a new centre half (VD from celtic) and are worried that their defense may let them down.

Have to remember he is still quite young (i think?), he should improve year on year and he's only had two (?) seasons in the prem... At the moment he should be our first choice bench warmer for left back/centre back. Good squad player but not what we should be aiming for in our starting line up.

Is he actually alive? I would love to see him replace Colback and find a bit of his old form. Imagine he comes good, Aarons and Ayoze shine, colo finds some of the old magic and Mbemba and Nitrovic playing fist season wonderstuff... Oh, we can dream!

We have no idea how good/bad de jong is yet as he has hardly played for us, whereas we all know what Ayoze can do and how had he works... I really think he should get first crack at No10 as he merits it if only for being the shining light in pardew's shitefest last season!

Yesterday Obertan ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous, the guy is so inconsistent that he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. That said, most of our problems came from the fact our final ball was rubbish yesterday, or our fullbacks just decided to play the easy back pass once they had gotten into advanced positions...

If anita and colback start together as the defensive midfielders then our team automatically becomes pedestrian, I would much rather have colback and wijnaldum as the defensive pivots with sissoko, perez/dejong, aarons in front of them. Colback and anita together are just too ordinary ... Personally, I would like to see ayoze ahead of dejong as he is so lively, bring dejong on later to kill off and control matches

anita was consistent in every pass, never took a chance all game, if you looked at their centre of midfield they ran rings around him, he can pass in an average fashion but the team has to carry him on the defensive side. I am not convinced at all!

Don't want willo anywhee near first team after just seeing 10 mins of mbemba and his ball technique... chalk and cheese...
