Colo should stay as back up to Mbemba and another new centre back, he is not first team sheet material any more due to his inconsistency. He is the best defender we have at bringing the ball out and we need to addess that when buyin another centre back i.e. has passing ability at other end of scal compared to Mike "hot potato" williamson

He still brings it out of defense elegantly and without the spasms that williamson bringing it out evokes! Yep, his defending has gotten ever worse over the last year or two

I watched the sacramento match last night and Colback was really off the pace when it comes to pressuring, interceptions, closing pass angles etc, he was laughable tbh. What he did do well was offer himslef for the pass when we were in possession and also simple passing to his team mates. He is decent at keeping the team ticking over when in possession but is absolute gash when we don't have the ball, all of this from his showing the other day...

We've had a downgrade on Best (Riviere) and we don't have a substitute right back so would welcome Perchinho back with open arms (not!)

I like the idea of a diamond with what we have at the moment, as we don't really have any good wingers. Not sure McClaren has ever played that way though. Genuinely no idea. Also cast Tiote out of that lineup please. This formation relies heavily on the wingbacks tearing up and down both attacking and defending. would love to see it!

Jack colback would be a very decent back up player, he shouldn't be playing week in week out if we want to be in the top eight regurlarly, but when we need someone to come in and cover injuries or late sub to tighten up then he is always 100% consistent, just that he isn't top notch. Well worth a free transfer and great business on our behalf. Would rather see tiote, abeid, wijnaldum, anita (?) in thoise central roles before him

I would even consider Krul at the moment, it might up his game and he has been here a while now and has saved us on many an occasion. I imagine his teammates will have a bit of respect for him. On the other side, outfield players have more influence on their teammates due to proximity...

If we had some midfielders who were capable of putting a quick ball through to him on one of his many offside trap runs then he would score shi#loads, the fact that we had ponderous plodders putting the ball through to him makes an argument as to why he hasn't scored as regularly as he should. Would rather keep him if we are playing a pass based approach rather than hoofball based Pardle tactics...
