  1. Oh aye, cos' they barely had a sniff apart from that, like. They scored because Taylor is thick. Carr would have done the same. Maybe thats where he learnt it from. For all Brambles faults he always manages to stop Henry, maybe thats why Henry went out wide to get the ball. It was frustrating as the form Given was in I would have been confident to let Henry go past me if I was defending. The only way that feekick would have been stopped was if we had Crouch on the post.
  2. I thought Dyer and Martins were the only 2 that ran out of defense with the ball and did something with it from what i saw, i started watching from 30 mins onwards. Solano and Milner when coming away from our goal ran into the first Arsenal shirt they saw and lost the ball for it to come straight back to us. I would prefer to see it clearer on MOTD or football first though.
  3. Maybe we could all run on the pitch at SJP and make the goal 6 times wider, we may score then.
  4. I feel sorry for you if it hasn`t sunk in yet. Someone get this person a copy of the Charlton and Sheffield game. Up until those 2 games I had a scrapping of blind hope we could do something still this season but those 2 performances in particular have pulverised any hope I had. We could sign the whole Chelsea team in January and by February they would all be playing like a pub team with their careers in tatters, either that or teminally injured by freak accidents.
  5. In the summer window we were in the intertoto but not confirmed in uefa. So that will help money wise. Also it would be wise to spend/borrow any amount it takes to stay up because in the long run it will be cheaper than getting relegated. I`m sure the points we have in league by Jan will influence the amount we panic buy.
  6. I think your actually thinking of an NUFC a few years ago. I will be worring about the game even if we draw wycombe.
  7. I said this in the match chatroom on tuesday. Good news.
  8. Are you saying the board should be locked in the ground when the fire starts? WELL ARE YOU?!!! bluebiggrin.gif Good plan, never thought of that, maybe use them to start it, that blubber would burn for ages.
  9. Havn`t read the thread but the best way to save this club is burn it to the ground and claim on the insurance. Then start again.
  10. No way if we sign him it will ruin him, let him sign for a quality club if he has potential.
  11. The away teams generally stay in the same hotel. Watford would have already made a deal with that hotel, then let the away teams know wheres best to stay. If you need to find out so desparately just go on a Watford message board or phone the club and ask. Its only NUFC ffs, not Brazil or England they will probably tell you. All the teams that visit Ipswich stay at the same hotel, even the international friendly and pre season bigger teams.
  12. Its a good job you aren`t allowed to employ unqualifiyed managers in the Premiership. With no UEFA Pro A coaching badge. Imagine if we employed someone like Souness or Roeder.......... we could get relugated.
  13. You make a good point there. You'd often get the likes of Shearer, Parker, Emre, Taylor, etc. coming out to the press saying everybody's behind the manager. Haven't seen anything of the sort for Roeder. Don't know where you get that from. Harper has been underlining the progress made Roeder and Pearce in regards to the defence recently while laying into players who show no heart, Butt has reiterated his desire to repay Roeder, and Ramage lauched a very passionate defence of him after the Palermo game for starters. I`m talking about more on the pitch, not the bits they are told to say to the press. When Souness was in the shite ( most of his tenure ) if we went down a goal to someone shite like Sheffield Utd you would see more urgency more mental strength. This may have been because Shearer was captain at the time or it may have been the players got more fired up under Cluelessouness.
  14. One thing i will say is that the players looked like they were trying harder to win under Souness. The players didn`t even look like they cared yesterday, no madness or aggression to try to get back into the game. Parkers performance looked like he couldn`t care less. It is probably because Souness signed most of the current team that they actually tried to win.

    Booing parker

I havn`t read the whole thread. I think Butt should be captain. He is probably the most senior player we have and most experienced unless i`m forgeting someone. At the start of yesterdays match he looked most up for it by a mile. I also agree with Emre looking more captain material aswell.
  16. http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&no=112 Make your own here. I don`t know if there is a uk version.
  17. I feel really sorry for Glenn. He looked really worried and gutted today and he has done lots for our club. The sad thing is he is not upto the job with FS in charge and the mess Souness left us in. If only he took over after bobby with the squad i`m sure he would have dealt with Bellamy and the other s in a posititve way that benefitted the club. If he gets sacked it will be the first time i`m gutted a manager that wasn`t good enough is sacked. We need a manger that can do what Harry Redknapp did before, a true motivator with tactical sense and some wise buys/ loans in Jan.
  18. Rossi I havn`t seen enough of. Bramble has strength but not the skill. Moore is past it. Ramage and Taylor imo don`t have the skill yet but have potential but potential won`t save us from relegation. The ones I have left out I either havn`t seen enough of or are old and past it. We need to have strong and skilled players aswell as fast and skilled like the top teams but we seem to have either or strength or skill.
  19. It showed more today our physical weakness. Did we win any headers ? We were relentlessly pushed around and bullied all match.
  20. Its on skysports news, looks like alot more than the souness out protest.
  21. I was having a shave this morning and started to wonder, why do we do so well in Europe and not the Premiership and why do we get so many injuries? My Conclusion - I think there are 4 types of team. 1, The team that does ok in the premiership but not so well in Europe mainly consisting of big strong players and less skill and agility. 2, The team that does well in Europe but gets out muscled in the Premiership mainly consisting of fast skillful players but less strength and height (us). 3, The team that does well in all competitions consisting of a well balanced selection of skillful and strong players with enough depth to rotate. This team may have brought in lightweight skillful players but have held them back for a few months to strenghen them. 4, Last but not least the teams that are plain crap, low skill low strength. Examples of Team 1 - Bolton, Blackburn Examples of Team 2 - Newcastle, ? Examples of Team 3 - Chelsea, Arsenal and ManUre Examples of Team 4 - West Ham, Watford We had upto 10 injuries going into the game in Europe. If you look at our injured players they are all skill based players more than strength based players. This is why we have more injuries than most clubs. Goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek Tim Krul Shay Given More skill to make up for height and size Steve Harper Defender Craig Moore Olivier Bernard Stephen Carr Titus Bramble Peter Ramage Steven Taylor Celestine Babayaro Skill more than strength Midfielder Damien Duff Skill more than strength Nicky Butt Nolberto Solano James Milner Belozoglu Emre Although he played he was 50/50 - Skill more than strength Kieron Dyer Skill more than strength Charles N'Zogbia Scott Parker Skill and determination more than size and strength Attacking Midfielder Antoine Sibierski Striker Obafemi Martins Skill more than determination and strength Giuseppe Rossi Albert Luque Skill more than determination and strength Michael Owen Skill more than strength Shola Ameobi Lacking skill and strength, plays on determination to suceed Looking at the team we put out on Thursday I feel they won using skill and speed where as we may have a harder time beating lesser clubs in the premiership as we get out muscled. Looking at the players we have lost over our recent decline you will notice they were more rounded players. They were either less injury prone, more determined or had a good mixture of size strength and skill. For example Shearer, Bellamy etc. Our team now consists of players with one main attribute ie just pace, just finishing. Basically I think we need at least 3 players that have a good level of skill but with more of an emphasis on strength, that don`t pick up niggly injuries every other week. Do you think our team being so unbalanced is the reason we are struggling in the premiership but doing ok in europe?
  22. Carr V Ronaldinho Babayaro V Messi Bramble V Etoo It would be a record breaking victory Funny you should put that, didn`t you watch the game when we played Mallorca a 2-3yrs ago. A certain Eto didn`t get a sniff of the ball, Bramble marked him out of the game and still had time to score aswell in our 4-1 victory. Obviously Eto has come on alot but with the injury he has now until January I think he will struggle to hit top form again this season. So no thats not that laughable but Messi would trouble anyone.
  23. I said something similar a few years back when i joined here. I think he would do quite well in an away game to an inform team, but he isn`t mobile enough to do it in the prem I don`t think
  24. Proving how little you know really. Brambles stats for European games are good for a CB :- 06/07 6 games 1 goal - Europe 05/06 Not in Europe 04/05 6 games 0 Goals - Europe We crumbled when Bramble and Dyer left the pitch 03/04 11 games 3 goals - Europe Also to actually get the games in Europe the team ( Carr and Bramble) must have defended fairly well to progress.
