  1. Big exaggeration IMO. Yes, if he wants to win the CL etc etc he has to move on, fair enough. That's the case for most players at most clubs. But he's competing in the best league in the world and he's likely to go to the WC as an important player for France. It's not like he's scrabbling around the conference. Then again, he needs to pick a move carefully or he might end up warming a very successful bench. The point is he won't achieve anything of significance with us or (in my opinion) reach his full potential; but I agree, it's not like we're some footballing outpost.

    Sunderland

They'll get bummed by Man City, it's all good
  3. Dante won't go to Manchester United, Bayern rate him far too highly to sell to who they perceive to be a CL rival.
  4. At no point did it look like any of their players believed they were going to win
  5. I love the guy, but he's too good for a club with no ambition. I think if we were actually arsed about challenging/winning silverware he would stay here for a serious chunk of his career, when he first moved he seemed really attached to the project and being the centrepiece of a developing team with a new transfer strategy who had the infrastructure to become a European force. I don't blame him one iota for becoming disillusioned with the fact that a guy of his undoubtable talent (for my money he's in the top 10/20 players in the division; he was in the Guardian top 100 footballers in the world and I absolutely don't think that's a stretch) is at a team which will never develop him to his full potential or allow him to use that talent to contribute to winning anything or going anywhere. The equivalent would be my employer never striving to make more profit and never trying to develop anyone, with no real structure for moving up the chain. I would become massively disillusioned and be looking for a way out, not because I am a diva or difficult, because I want to be the best I can be. Seriously, what in the name of holy fuck can Alan Pardew teach this guy about football that will permit him to become one of the best players in Europe, which he has the potential to be?
  6. Absolutely up for the Keegan one, anyone else?
  7. Agree with that, mind. Taylor got away with absolute murder for years while people like me got slaughtered (at the game and on here) for telling it like it was. Now I think he's better than better than Mike Williamson and apparently that makes me his no.1 fan. There really is a lot of stupid people supporting our club. Also, it's there really are a lot of stupid people.
  8. You've said that about Williamson. You wanna make up your mind. Have I though? If I have, whenever I said it (before his recent run of form), would you have thought it an outlandish statement? Also, I don't think saying that about either player is a bad summary.
  9. Fine as 4th choice CB, nothing more
  10. If only to remind west ham fans Carlton cole isn't the worst striker in the league?
  11. I would submit, based on never having watched him, that he is an upgrade on Shola.
  12. Yeh I did have to do a bit of wading through the facially sub-optimal before arriving at a visually acceptable spot. Nee bother; will see you up in Scotland for the Hitman. I'm going to ask him to demonstrate the sharpshooter on Taylor
  13. Thought Head of Steam was immense; was having a proper bogle
  14. Special mention must be made of our 20 or so minutes in Sinners, a place where IQ points go to melt.
  15. No it's that Williamson plays well in partnerships which provide another element to his strength, heading and solidity; like Coloccini or Yanga-Mbiwa. Unfortunately our dear leader saw fit to play the latter at full back and leave an actual full back on the bench.
  16. Jacobean ruff. All of the Queen's emissaries get one. Your jealousy is as palpable as your facial hair is questionable.
  17. I'm sure the OP will help you In fact it doesn't! Seems like the kind of thing your manager should ensure; everyone being provided with proper directions. Fail - Neil. The words even look similar.
  18. Ian and I have touched down in the North East. We saw some Reds fans weeping
