  1. Yesterday you complained that women’s football took up time on tv instead of lower league matches you wanted to watch. For you to celebrate less than 24 hours later is fraudulence on a Steve Bruce level. Shame on you.
  2. Just one really fucking purely nice thing to happen at such a godawful time for this country. Everyone who has actually followed this for more than a few weeks must be over the moon, because I’ve been watching only this tournament and I’m ecstatic. This is what the country can be when we try - progressive, determined, joyful, talented and silly. They’re sporting heroes for their lives and they deserve all the happiness it brings.
  3. @WillingtonMagmust hate having this shit shoved down his throat
  4. I really can’t emphasise how grim I find your opinions sometimes. Whoever “they” are, nobody is forcing anything on to you - you can literally just not watch it by choosing to do literally anything else when it’s on. Before the match today I had conversations with every person I was with about the final, and every person I spoke to (10-15 people, I’d guess) all said they are watching the final and all were looking forward to it. It’s a positive thing for gender equality, it’s a positive thing for the country at a time when it’s not in a good state and it’s a positive thing for sport. Worrying
  5. Because inclusivity is preferable to segregation? Plenty of lower league teams in the region, you could just buy a ticket to go and watch them. Alternately, you could take the approach that men’s football has dominated televised sports for literally decades and that trying something new isn’t a bad thing because, you know, progress.
  6. Literally means head lawyer in an organisation
  7. I’m up there next week visiting @LFEEso I’ll have to make sure he’s on pitchfork watch with me.
  8. Honestly man it's not healthy to have your emotional state this affected by transfer activity, or even sport in general. I am not in Newcastle but every Newcastle fan I know personally isn't worried in the slightest. They're all looking forward to a season where relegation is extremely unlikely and where we have a decent, competitive squad; a great manager and owners who have shown commitment and nouse in the transfer market and running the club. They're all excited about who else will sign and understand that this isn't like a toy shop where you can walk in and buy whatever shiny shit is on offer. Tinderbox ffs.
  9. “The panic” - you mean “my panic”.
  10. I’m not really bothered about perceived value for money, as long as player is decent
  11. It’s really sad that this kind of shit is allowed - just gets more and more brazen the further time goes on. I literally got a court summons recently for failing to pay council tax by direct debit - i paid it all up front at the start of the year and they didn’t keep a record. I had to spend days going through various webs of private companies which owned various council payment and debt collection services, and only got it sorted by turning up at the council’s offices and refusing to leave. It is everywhere and sadly the club isn’t going to be different because this shitty everything-for-sale tinpot island allows it to be that way.
  12. I thought he was unlucky not to get more game time in the first season back up, and found it a bit weird that Rafa straight away on promotion didn’t seem keen on him. Since then he’s contributed nothing, which is weird and sad because I had time for him. Best of luck you odd, odd looking man.
  13. Not sure I would have been allowing that to be released if I were the club. Keep that shit in-house. The parking thing is absurd if true, needless idiocy.
  14. Probably because he comes across as a massive tosser on a regular basis so people are keen for him to fail.
  15. @Ikonthink we'll just have to agree to disagree on Shelvey, I think he's a good player but respect your view otherwise.
  16. i don’t know what “do anything of sort of come out of difficult situations” means. Otherwise, he’s legitimately one of our most dynamic players - he can do things with a ball and spots runs into space which very few players can. He’s technically a very adept footballer. I wouldn’t say him going too deep is some form of character flaw, he was instructed to play there by consecutive managers. I agree that he’s not good defensively and there are times where he doesn’t chase and compete defensively as much as he should.
  17. To make what I think are a series of sensible observations: - we look very comfortable moving the ball side to side - full backs very involved - step down from Bruno to everyone else is very noticeable - Anderson looked good - Murphy, Fraser and trippier were poor - wood did nothing but Wilson didn’t do much more - we didn’t make too many good chances
  18. Then you can’t have watched much last season either, when he was consistently one of our better players. Just groupthink on here to complain about shelvey, it’s boring
