  1. you dont think Drogba was worth £24m? they won the title twice with him leading the line, one of those seasons he got more assists than any other player. Then last season he hit 34 goals from open play, including the winner in the FA cup final and remains their most influential player He is a fantastic player, but I also believe he has vastly improved during his time at Chelsea. In my opinion, he certainly wasn't worth £24 at the time of purchase. I don't think many would disagree, retrospective bias aside!
  2. Very difficult to say, even if you limit the scope to "just today's money" because clubs will pay dramatically under or over the odds depending on who they are, who they're paying and the circumstances. E.g clubs will extort Chelsea [hence £24m for Drogba], £16/17m for Bent... because... well, fuck knows why, because he's English?, £100m for Cristiano because Real know that Man Utd are loaded... There's no way to tell basically.
  3. I'm torn between an attacking central midfielder who can thread incisive balls through for Martin/Owens and a right midfield so we have two devastating flanks of Enrique/Zog and Beye/xxxxxx.
  4. If, gun to your favourite George Michael CD*, you had to choose just one player to bring in over the summer, which position would it be for? [* - or something you care about ]
  5. ------------------Harper Beye-------Carrager----Faye----Enrique Pennant-- Alonso--Mascherano--Zog/Babel -------------Martins------Torres [in a 4-4-2, for me]
  6. Oh, I reckon Heysel, and British clubs being banned from Europe for years, are pretty solid reasons for disliking Liverpool fans. That and the dumb combination of fatuous arrogance and whining victimhood. Also, why don't we hate Arsenal with the same passion exactly? Who we should, by your science, be even more envious of?
  7. Newcastle are currently playing better football than Liverpool. Newcastle are a Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard away from being in the top 6. Take those 2 away from Liverpool and they're nothing but a mid-table team. Steady on! I'd say the majority of their midfield is better than ours. Also, I don't think we necessarily need any other/different strikers this summer. I agree with danswan with regard to style, certainly though. Much much rather be watching a Newcastle/Arsenal/Reading/Man Utd style team than a Liverpool/Everton/Bolton. Typing those names out, or reading them over make your soul groan FFS.

    MBark Boussoufa

Another player who we'd be without when the ACN rolls around, it's worth noting.
  9. Does anyone else get the impression that the Liverpool goalkeeper's jersey is like the England/Newcastle hotseat? Tonight's conceded goal aside, the commentators are ready to scapegoat their keepers at any given time!? Want Arsenal to win, but not the whole tournament.
  10. N'Zogbia's still a fantastic talent and letting him go would be asinine. Keegan's man management will keep him at the club for sure. I also look forward to he and Enrique developing a good rapport. We'll have a devastating left side, if they do.
  11. I'd really like to see Hull come up, and on current form I think they will. If they invest prudely in the summer, then they'd have the best chance of staying up along with West Brom, I would imagine.
  12. Ya Im suprised at that Think positive. Parading Smith in shop window maybe?
  13. Slick passing football, 7 goals in 2 games, Keenan & Kel celebrations, Newcastle surely higher up the pecking order on MoTD tonight, Bluf posting, does it get any better...
  14. Three strikers, three mothufuckin' goals, say it with me.... WHOOOOO LOVES ORANGE SODA...
  15. Kel's pretty good too tbf. His over-reliance on orange soda will be our downfall. Wait, who loves orange soda? Kel loves orange soda Is it true? mmm hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm id do i do ido i dooooooo hooooooo Okay, this just turned into the weirdest/most protracted goal celebration I've ever seen on N-O....... ... I like it
  16. Kalou and Chops double respective leads
  17. Kel's pretty good too tbf. His over-reliance on orange soda will be our downfall. Wait, who loves orange soda?
  18. Damian Johnson off for Brum against Wigan.
  19. Oba's presence/harrying always seems to garner mistakes from opposition defence
  20. Barry, Villa one up on Bolton. Woo.
  21. Wouldn't laugh, myself. Feel bad for King, and the club just won a trophy. No less happy we keep trouncing them, mind.
  22. Yeah, I'd say that the fact that they were missing two of their most influential player rubbishes your claim. Not necessarily Apisith. Who's to say that they'd have made a difference! Man Utd never stepped out of second gear.
