They better not have re-defined the word "bellend" because I'll be needing it very soon.
  2. Surprising since you're only one Norwich win away from being set as the season comes in to the home straight.

Assumed this is the point of this campaign? I doubt those behind it think it'll suddenly cause Ashley to swiftly depart on a whim, but what's wrong with at least trying to change things, or at least bring further attention to the cause? At worst, it will likely provide more public debate about it and help to highlight Ashley's total unwillingness to support any kind of on-pitch ambition. "It's unlikely to change things therefore accept the status quo" seems a pretty terrible mentality to me. Criticse the campaign if you like, but it's a form of activism in a club drowning in apathy. Yeah I don't get the issue really. Unwillingness for themselves or others to be shaken from apathy for fear of being labelled a deluded Geordie by the southern press for wanting more? Fuck knows. I actively enjoy taking people to task on the 'deluded Geordie' bollocks, not that yous need defending as such but just the quantity of media rhetoric bollocks that people actually believe about your club is pretty remarkable. Probably because they want to believe it as it fits their lazy, pre-set perception of Newcastle fans. Because level-headed fans who simply want their side to compete and show some ambition isn't a particularly amusing stereotype therefore it just isn't true. You have more patience than me I'll talk about any other club other than Newcastle these days. It's impossible

They're seeking to galvanise fans out of apathy by educating on Ashley's foibles. What is there to take issue with, really?
  6. Aguero and Silva Great players to watch

Um no. I oppose the people who brought us the roaring success that was SackPardew having any part in it. It was successful though. He's not f***ing here anymore as a result of it The stated aim was to get him sacked, not let him leave on his own terms, leaving us in a worse state, and in the process make him look good and us look bad. What made "us" look bad exactly? I listed them in the first post. Made fans seem fickle? Four years of shite is fickle? Four years of being happily ingratiated within the Ashley regime is fickle? Four years of being turned over by dogshit mackems (not even a vaguely decent mackem side) and early cup exits is fickle?

  10. Wullie, what's the cash out value now?

Not sure how this will turn out, but the best thing about the club in the last 5 or so years has quite comfortably been the fanbase coming to life (if only in pockets) for the SackPardew campaign. It was the last faint, glimmer of the club's old values and culture shining... if this can replicate that it'd be great.
  12. Just checking if it was factually so - always feel that way after such a game, but wasn't sure if those were actually the margins between their survival and relegation.
  13. Would they have gone down if they had 6 less points in the previous seasons? [Well, four in one of them - if they've only () won five in a row]

    John Carver

FACT-TOPPER: CRonaldo scored more goals than that today.

    He should have been booked.
  16. This, it's one of my main interests alongside music and cinema but that's all it is really now - an interest. This forum's become the best thing about NUFC. I still follow what's going on, but I don't watch or listen to games or identify as a fan. I don't blame Carver - he is just your average fan, really. If the club has any chance to save itself (and FWIW, I don't think it does now) the fans have to change. The media and Ashley executed a perfect hatchet job on them. It's dead impressive objectively 1. Build up a 'delusions of grandeur' tag until the indigenous folk become too self-conscious to make a fuss about anything 2. Incrementally lower expectations until such time that any protest is meaningless once the TV deal kicks in. Funnily enough though, most of the fans still don't care enough to protest - or realise they futility of it, but inexplicably accept what is served rather than walk away. Stockholm'd to fuck
  17. C'mon I know us fairweather cybertear-crying social media folk are supposed to be nice to the upstanding match-going folk but what reason is there to go that exempts you from derision...?
