I'd have no reservations saying Marveaux is a better technical player than Lennon from the handful of games for instance and the years or watching Lennon's progression beyond a super athlete stall. And that's having seen Lennon for years. The only nauseating feeling from this thread is the obsequious reverence paid to a Spurs who we all but beat at home last season with an inferior side (had a rush of blood to the head not occurred!) As I've posited in another thread before, I think the only way to break into any ostensibly 'closed-group' elite in the Premiership is to spike within the space of one, or maybe two, seasons - otherwise wealthier clubs will dissect the spine during transfer windows. This view we need to prove ourselves and build incrementally for five steady years or anything like that is absurd in modern day football IMO. There's nowt wrong with backing us to challenge with the likes of Spurs. Of course, as long as you don't say you're certain we'll smash them etc, you won't invite comments over arrogance but you should be able to have confidence in your team and be able to say so.

Nothing wrong with that, he's one of the few that actually speaks what he's thinking, rather than just going with popular opinion. In the interview I just saw he just said he thinks Arsenal will finish between 6 and 8th because Lee Dixon said so.

What's with this Robbie Savage stuff with the BBC? I didn't particularly go for it myself, but I at least understood the novelty gimmick of getting a footballing villain/laughing stock to do a few shows of Football Focus or some funny interviews/bullshit predictions, but he's not going away... are they now actually trying to sell him to viewers as a football expert?

just had a look at some of the odds for the upcoming internationals. Properly diabolical. Scotland 1/4 away from home against Liechtenstein, for example. Scotland aren't 1/4 odds on against anyone, man! Ireland aren't 1/20 odds on against anyone either.

I'm quite enjoying what Pardew has done to our "fan-formation" thinking. By putting the tremendously right-footed Ryan Taylor as our left back for the first seven odd games of the season, now, nothing is off the table! Santon can play either flank, Raylor can play either flank (apparently!), Jonas can play either flank, Ben Arfa can play either flank. Maybe even Marveaux too. Maradona should get some credit too, mind you.

The majority of posters berated and bemoaned him after every game IIRC.
