FKW tbh.

This is from the club shop name printing service on the site at the moment - http://i66.tinypic.com/bdjjiv.png Still has Atsu at 30..

Might shoot that Arma loan in the foot.

Exactly all the right things you should be saying to get back in the England team, right Jonjo? I'm probably his biggest fan, but what a f***ing idiot lol.
-
Swap Perez for De Jong. It's still nowhere near strong enough for my liking. Don't agree tbh

http://i67.tinypic.com/8yub0x.png Oh man, why didn't I know about this? He was teammates with Arma for the whole 2015-2016 season!

I'm actually really excited about this transfer. That said, even Wikipedia is on it now too "Jacob Kai Murphy (born 24 February 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays primarily as a winger for Newcastle United."

Can't disagree more, the lad's part of the England U20s, and clocked 20 in League 2 for Coventry Give him time.

As he won the Championship, does that make him a Champion?

Makes me wonder if our relegation season might just have been a bad dream when I read comments like this. Yes he's got a lot of quality, for the right side in the right role he's very good. But I'm in no hurry to bring back a lad that I was desperate to see dropped at times in our relegation season. He was f***ing awful for big portions of that season, including the time Rafa managed us in the Premier League. Aye it's very strange. He was an utter disgrace for us. The only player who didn't give his all under Rafa and that says a lot about him Yes he was inconsistent, it was his first PL season and he played for a poor team. Yet he scored 11 goals from midfield. Not too shabby. 4 in one game against a team that went on to be relegated, and 2 in the final game when we were already relegated. Yeah real contributor that one. I'm not going to repeat myself. Look, it was easy to see his qualities when on top of his game. Has done well for Liverpool. He's a good player, period. Of course, but that's not the point you were making. You said : Of course he's a good player. Calibre is a broad term, and if you'd said just 'ability' then I wouldn't have argued. His character and thus his contribution to the cause was shocking, and abundantly clear when he couldn't even be arsed when Rafa Benitez took over. It's entirely ridiculous to suggest that people would want players of that calibre here again.

No.

I literally avoid The Daily Mail as much as The Chronicle to be honest. What the DM lacks in website vomit in comparison to The Chronicle, it more than makes up for with the monkey-typewriter articles.

In old money that's about 750k.

I think the Colback replacement is a massive priority, and that's why we keep hearing the price of McCarthy going up. I assume that's because we are still showing an interest. I think that might be one of those areas where we will spend big, although it might not be on McCarthy. I don't know what happened with the talk of Samaris, but it might come down to where we can get a reasonable deal on that position. £25m for someone to rival Hayden's starting spot is a massive lump to fork out though, can't see Rafa dropping Shelvey for almost anyone to be honest.
-
Don't you mean you picked that day especially?
-
Quite possibly and that approach could perhaps have merit in different circumstances but the problem is that we already have a lot of players who are below the quality required for the league we're in now and so adding more of the same standard doesn't really seem beneficial at all. Personally I think Gayle, Ritchie, and Shelvey are Premier League quality and getting players in of similar quality would be a good move. On paper Murphy isn't too far away from Ritchie, and is arguably more of a prospect than Atsu. To me it seems like Lejeune will be fighting it out with either Lascelles or Clark for a centre back place. Of course the proof will be in the pudding, but I do get the feeling that it's more of a decent squad approach instead of a good first time and a poor second string. Until Colback is behind at least 3 other central midfielders in the pecking order I'm not confident at all 1. Shelvey 2. Hayden 3. ?

Robert's the best winger we've had at the club in 25 years+
-
Pulis is not the Stoke manager. Not even his last club either, poor Kaka
-
I'm sure I read that he's not getting on with Koeman so well?
-
Not sure he's good enough to start for anyone in the top 6 to be honest, reminds me of Wilshere, great ability but no where near enough application on a consistent basis compared with their counterparts in the other top teams. He's English so will command a price tag for that home-grown spot, and would definitely walk into our team no doubt about it. Could see him going to a club like West Ham to be honest.
-
Murphy prefers to play RM so it'll be interesting to see what happens with him and Ritchie. Can see Ritchie and De Jong divvying up the no.10 role between themselves depending on fitness to be honest. I don't know how effective Ritchie is going to be on the wing in the prem.

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" Anyone partaking to this proverb at the moment?

Well, of all the managers I've ever seen speak publically, e.g. interviews etc., Rafa Benitez is probably the most careful and deliberate in what he says. Every single word is spoken for a purpose. Rafa knows football politics incredibly well, this is his way of kicking Lee up the bum through Mike imo. It's a bold move but unfortunately necessary. When you have a glorified secretary in charge of transfer negotiations it's never going to go well. Wonder how long Rafa will put up with this shit, that's the question.
