2023 Summer (Tonali, Barnes, Livramento, Hall, Minteh) 2022 Summer (Isak, Botman, Pope, Targett) 2022 Winter (Trippier, Wood, Guimaraes, Targett (loan), Burn) 2023 Winter (Gordon, Ashby, Kuol) I don’t know how I’d assign a number to this window. I’d thought maybe I’d compare it to previous windows — even rank those windows, but I’m finding that equally impossible. That first window for me has to be a 10; it addressed short term needs and kept us in the league. But then last summer gave us three long term starters. Maybe that’s what we have in the players bought this year. I’m really excited. I have no idea how good Tonali, Livramento, and Hall are or could be. (Though I do remember being impressed with both Livramento and Hall).

Almiron has been are best threat, and … I’d take him off. Bring on Barnes and switch Gordon over.

How thick must Paqueta be to do something like this. Members of his family placed the bets. Really? Doesn’t the league mandate some sort of training in preseason to ward off this sort of thing? Like flight attendants on a plane? Surely, the clubs must take steps to explain —in the simplest terms possible— that a player is risking his carrier doing something like this.

They’re all benching Haaland? I like their confidence. Guess he’s not scoring then. -
Just wishful thinking on their part. “Tonali doesn’t really want to be there” “Their league form will drop because they’re in Europe” “As soon as they have a drop in form, PIF is going to fire Howe” “The fans will turn if they don’t finish top 4” Could make YouTube pundit bingo cards.

Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough! It isn't fit for humans now…

Let's get the opinion of a Man Utd goalkeeper...

Disgraceful

So they’re handing out these long term contracts to lock in players at “lower wages”? And accepting the risk that player might turn out to be crap or get injured?

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to believe that Arsenal will see benefit in loaning Tierney to Newcastle as it would improve us and hurt the chance of Chelsea or Liverpool getting Champions League football next year. Arsenal know the damage that missing out on the CL for consecutive seasons can do to a club…. Well, we can dream can’t we?
-
I thought the league or UEFA had passed some rule regarding those long term contracts and amortization.

So, now Chelsea are going to turn around and try to offload Conor Gallagher on West Ham for similar fee? I can see that Moyes must be desperate to get some players in, but it seems like Chelsea needs to sell more than the Hammers need to buy. Could help them to get a decent price. That or Chelsea ship their local boy — who only ever wanted to play for Chelsea— off to Saudi Arabia.

He cost £3M, not £115M
-
Froggy, Really? You don't pay in excess of £100M on an "excellent young player". How much do pay for a world class player then?
-
He certainly hasn't proven himself to be "world class". He may well become world class in the future. Until that time comes, he is unproven.
-
Yes, but... Miggy was really good on Saturday as well.

Just winding you up.

Couldn't ask for a better time to play them. Still expect to lose. -
The more American andMid East owners you get, the more likely it becomes. Both love a cartel and don’t a crap about your traditional meritocracy.

Well, he ‘s no Lee Bowyer.
