Who will the Last undefeated Premiership team be?
gazza ladra replied to Shearer9's topic in Football
Think they might lose to Everton. Don't see Arsenal losing for a while, FA Cup excepted of course. You mean Carling Cup? Yeah-- Carling Cup, FA Cup, save difference. You've got a strong squad. Be surprised if you lose before November. -

Beats being stupidly pessimistic. No such thing, apparently its called "realism". Nah. Don't think so. A person can be stupidly pessimistic-- it's called "depression". Or, for the religiously inclined, "despair" -

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United? So finishing in the top four last year means your defence is automatically better then everyone elses?.. bollocks No, having better players. Who do we have that would start for one of the big four? Given, maybe. Everton looks pretty good as well.

Just because a fee is undisclosed doesn't mean it was free. Malouda transfer is thought to be around £13.5m, and at least £2m for Beletti. Unless you mean that they were neutral given their sales, in which case Well, they got something like £25m for Robben.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United?

At first blush--- I was thinking in terms of value for the money. To my mind, Chelsea did the best. Improved their squad for nothing. A -- Chelsea Manchester City Newcastle United B --- Arsenal Everton Liverpool Manchester United C --- Portsmouth Tottenham Hotspur D ---- Aston Villa Birmingham City Blackburn Fulham Middlesbrough Wigan F --- Bolton Derby Reading Sunderland West Ham

Worst signing (all clubs) of the summer
gazza ladra replied to Colos Short and Curlies's topic in Football
Right now, Dyer was the worst signing. Bent also seems to be a mistake IMO. Way too expensive and his acquisition created problems with Berbatov and Defoe. Would love it Berbatov moved on and they were stuck with Bent and Keane. And Amady Faye on loan is not a bad signing. -
You know your club (San Jose, I assume) is coming back next year, right? Yes, I am not 100% sure that I will be back though. The league is a joke, but it's all we have.
-
I like to that I've seen him and that he's good. But I haven't seen him in a while. Haven't really watched any MLS games since the league folded my club. Bastards.

I'd expect Cacapa, Rozehnal, Taylor, and Faye to all get minutes at CB. Taylor may play right back. And Faye at CB, RB, LB, and CM. But the point is well taken, from what I've seen so far-- Cacapa and Rozehnal should be starters. RB CB CB LB ----- --------- ----------- --------- Beye Cacapa Rozenhnal Enrique Taylor Taylor Faye Faye Faye N'Zogbia [Carr] [babayaro] CM ----- Geremi Faye Butt etc.
-
ST - Martins -> Owen CM - Geremi -> Butt CD - Faye -> Cacapa, Rozehnal RB - Beye -> Taylor Not terrible.

What's that old saying? Sometimes you make your own luck. Paraphrasing Glenn Hoddle now?
-
Wow, Beye is looking really, really good right now. Too good. Too much to ask for.

Jesus. If this isn't a wind-up, kindly fuck off. Or just fuck off anyway. FFS

Have we actually got the wrong strikers for the 433?
gazza ladra replied to Parky's topic in Football
Exactly. One goalless draw and the sky is falling... Allardyce is turning us into Bolton...he's trying to sell Martins FFS -
Jol on the brink? Breaking news:Ramos snubs huge Spurs offer.
gazza ladra replied to Parky's topic in Football
The Tottenham board are, apparently, all big time Spur fans and they actually believe all the hype about their players. We had KD on here claiming that Spurs player-for-player had a better squad than Arsenal. Idiots. They finish fifth two seasons in a row and they suddenly think that they should've finished third or fourth, but the manager had let them down.
