Wait, are we back on Paqueta? Are we actually in for him or is this just more of the same fixation. Were we ever in for him other than the query that supposedly led to Bruno? NO hasn’t had its teeth dug in this deep since the whole Hitzfeld thing.

Perfect storm. What you said. Also, English. Man United. -
Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

He's one of our best players where are now. We'll need better to get where we want to go. Make sense? Wouldn't sell him now. We have other more important upgrades to make first. -

How did Mæhle look for Atalanta? Was really impressive in the Euros. Was expecting him to be snapped up.

More or less the starting 11 for the Arsenal match. Best we’ve played in years.

I am not at all adverse to pink tops, but that is shit.

At what point — if at all — does that FFP kick in and it bites Chelsea / Man United in the ass? How can they afford to pay 200- 300 K a week to bit players? They’ve got the five subs now, which I suppose helps. Answering my own question: they’ve create the rules (ffp, 5 subs) to consolidate their position. If the league starts to inconvenience them in the least, they’ll blow the whole thing up and f*ck off to the esl. Barcelona has already committed themselves. 15% of their future La Liga television rights is 15% of nothing.

Wish Almiron well and all, happy to see him scoring goals, etc., but this transfer window will be a failure if we start this season with Almiron, Fraser, and Murphy as our best three options on the right.

We’d be well on our way to League 1 by now.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

If he is loaned out, where? Where would he get minutes and work under a decent manager? -
The whole moneyball — replace a player in aggregate — doesn’t really work in FPL does it? If you make Salah your captain won’t he out score whatever two mids you replace him with? Will a few pounds distributed around the team make a difference? Genuinely asking. There must be some rule of thumb. I’d imagine someone scoring 250 points changes the calculations.

Chomp? You’re making this up, right?

To clarify. I like Eriksen. Don’t want to put myself in a position where I am rooting for Man Utd.
-
Was going to include Rashford based on the notion that he’ll have a return to form. But what’s the point in having layers you can’t stand? I am not going to win anything anyway. Going to sub out Eriksen as well.

Man, I thought that I loved Vieira.

Whoa, there. Slow down. Let’s sign Lewandowski while we’re at it.

“African”, it seems to me, always means west African, which may be a little odd. Are Algerians, Moroccans, South Africans subject to the same cliches? I don’t think so. Also, I have no idea about differences between the game as it is played in Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, etc. There must be. We distinguish between typically English, Dutch, German, and Italian players. Or at least skill sets that are particularly prized by those football cultures. Probably just my own ignorance.

Yeah, I sensed that it was ironic. Frequently in quotes. Maybe I wasn’t aware of the original context or had forgotten. It lingered for years, I think. But the irony proves the point doesn’t it? It’s a persistent cliche, a stereotype.

Probably have to disagree about Ake. Quick, Left-footed, ball-playing defender. Versatile. Can play CB in a three or four, or as LB. Coming into the prime age for a defender. Premier league experience. Of course he’s going to be f*cking expensive.
