You could tell every time Bellend got the ball he was desperate to have a run at Big Bungle... like he knew how crap he is... luckily it didnt pay off for him, but seriously, every striker in the Prem must fancy their chances when they see they are up against Bungle.

I agree, if Harper had left the club between 2000 and 2003 to get regular prem footy, he could have England caps by now... BUT as he chose to stay, his game has gone backwards, and he'll never get an England cap now obviously.

Weve seen them stroll the First Div before, then get embarrased every week in the Prem. Look at their current first 11, any that have played in the Prem before, either were simply not good enough, or are now well over the hill. They'd need significent investment, and im not sure John, Stokes, Edwards will keep them up... TBH, dont think they'll come up anyway, for me the top 2 will be Derby & Birmingham, and then the scum would be up against the likes of West Brom, Southampton, Prestion, Cardiff, who will have too much for them.

We dont have any player in our squad, who would get a game as a LB in any of the top 10 prem teams. Baba is half decent, but just doesnt care, strolls around and generally gets skinned. Ramage, Carr, Huntington can all fill in, but are pretty useless at LB, and Edgar we havent seen much of.

Would you expect a keeper in the premiership to make saves in a match, or concede them all? I dont think Harper made any brilliant saves on Sat, all pretty routine. The 'camera' save was the one in the second half, diving to his left, where he parried it straight back out into the danger zone, and one of their strikers almost knocked in the rebound.

Maybes this will be his last contract (tho jeeez he must have earned enough money by now) as it runs out at the end of the 08-09 season, by which time i'd like to think Krul will be at least the number 2... Unless Krul replaces Given as number 1 (cant see it happening that quick though) and our Ste Harper agrees to back stop him for the next millenium.

Does anyone think that Steve Harpers abilities have gone backwards, and he's not the keeper he was 4 seasons back. He's made some pretty awful mistakes this season, and has been handed as many games as he has in a long time... Obviously part of the reason for this is him sitting on his SJP contract, rather than going out and gettin himself some first team starts at another club. I also think, personally, he's getting a bit arrogant/lazy with this, he seems too casual all the time, like his attitude is "im not gonna start anyway, so whats the point..." Just little things, like when he makes a mistake, he seems to casually back peddle to goal (ie vs Liverpool on Sat) or when he lets a goal in, which he might have done better with, he holds his hands up and looks around like "feel sorry for me" (think this happened in Uefa Cup, when i header went through his legs, for example).

Think he'll be back for the last 5 games of the season, plus if we have any Uefa Cup games... I hope we ease him back in, cos im pretty scared, he's gonna get seriously injured again, and maybes thats the end.

Agree with the poster, we could have EASILY been 4 down at half time, and were very lucky we werent. I know its a game of ifs and buts, but if we had been, we'd be kicking off now... Similar let offs occured before that Birmingham FA Cup loss, and to be honest, i think we might be on the end of another trouncing before the season is out. Taylor was out of position and it showed on Sat. But there werent too many other options, Solano and RB, and Duff on wing, was he fit enough? Doesnt seem so.

Owen, Martins, Ameobi they are our strikers Dyer can play up front too, but is as much a midfielder Sibierski, should be nothing more than a stop-gap. If we are going to improve next season, and if we are going to challenge for a Champs league spot (why not - Bolton are this season) then we need 4 top strikers, Sib isnt one, and unfortunately, i dont think Dyer is one either.

Just as well Bellends finishing hasnt improved since he left us...

Love to see them go down...esp after that 'brain tumour' chanting down there earlier in the season. Now theyve spent bucket loads of money to buy their safety, i'd love them to go down even more. They arent down yet (Wigan should get beat tomrrow) but really West Ham should be beating Watford at home if they wonna stay up. Theyve got some tough fixtures (Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal) and also some 6-pointers (Charlton, Wigan)

Thought he looked pretty good today, made some vital interceptions and a couple of good tackles. But, weve gotta put him in a decent defence, if those 4 line up again, Gooch will be gettin called sh*te in no time, and his confidence will go down, and that'll be the end of another decent looking defender.
