Totaly agree, but you know what were like, we will say no then end up taking £4mill for him on the last day of the window. Definately, if we are to sell him, we should do at a sizable profit, particularly in respect to Villa having cash to spend these days. Should put in clauses related to Villa qualifying for euro/winning something and also Milner gaining full England caps (considering his age - its more than possible)

Arsenal yes as this and the two domestic trophies would be their only chance of silverwear, Man U and Barca not as much but they would still be looking to win a trophy id imagine, plus in theory im approaching it as if we were to play one of these teams and i couldnt see Sir Alex resting players if they were to play us (and even if they did, would we beat them over two legs) and i couldnt see us beating Barca over two legs. I get what you mean though. Grestest threat could well come from any ex-Soviet teams left in the comp a la CSKA Moscow.

Looking at the teams that might drop in from the CL: Bremen/Barca Sporting Bordeaux Shakhtar Steaua CSKA/Porto/Arse Lille/AEK Benfica/Man U the ones in bold i could see us beating over 2 legs and with teams like Spurs, Ajax, Sevilla, AZ & Espanyol likely to proceed in the UEFA i think we will have to look to a favourable draw to help see us through. Hopefully getting a point or 3 on Thurs will ensure an easy next round draw (in theory) but after that we need to get a Boro-esque draw and avoid the bigger names. Hopefully with a 3 or 4 new players in in Jan we will have a better squad than we do now and will be able to progress. I'd be happy with QF and anything better will be a bonus. For some reason though i have a hunch that Tottenham will win the UEFA Cup (don't ask me why)

First-half diagnosis? Decent performance although could have been tighter in midfield. Second-half diagnosis? Very good counter-attacking football only let down by good goalkeeping and woeful finishing. Thought Nicky Butt played fantastically infront of the back four. Full-time diagnosis? Decent performance, 8/10 Star man for United? Nicky Butt or Nobby Solano for me. Both played sensibly and used player their games well especially for Nobby who isnt an out and out FB.Sib was good too when he came on, no bad performances spring to mind. Worst United player? At a push Ramage but only because he doesnt offer anything going forward, he didnt have a bad game though and we have no-one better until Jan (hopefully) Opposition comment? How the fuck are they 4th? Played us twice, been battered twice. Would still love Sol in our back four though. Toon-pros? Good cohesion and battling spirit, willingness to get the ball on the floor and play. Helped by the atmosphere i think. Toon-cons? Should've have had the game out of sight Post-match feelings? Happy, hopefully we can build on this and get the point we need in Jormany and win against Reading and Watford and get something at Blackburn and thus climb the table. I hold no hope for Chelsea!.
