Probably for the best, maybe this niggling problem has been the main reason for his poor performance.

As the posts above have noted...Santa Cruz is a quality player. We could probably get him for around 6m + Duff. Worth a try.

I would try and sell him in the summer, if not then theres no choice but to keep him and try and encourage him to do better. If he does then offer a new contract but less than what he's on with the bulk of his contract depending on appearances and goals.

Value now higher in the case of 4 of those players. Not an academy player in sight among them. Just goes to show eh ? 50m + Player sales could maybe give us about 60-70m to spend which would be ok for the summer but we would need the same again the following summer and continued investment of this size at least.
