  1. Good piece but I dont think its a big mystery whats going on. To me there seem to be to types here. 1) The obvious trolls like Richard Keys or Talksport who just try to make ludicrous claims to get a reaction/clicks/views/callers what ever. 2) The ones who have it in their best interest to keep a steady interest in every day events at the football club for business reasons. Who's fit for Saturday, what did Jonjo eat for breakfast today etc. These are the ones who tow the "lets move on and focus on football" line like the local papers. The whole of Newcastle boycotting the football club isnt good business for anyone in the media. Do agree but I think there's a 3rd type personally - people within the football media who have always hated Newcastle, who begrudged us having one of the best teams around in the 90s and 00s, who are delighted to see us back "in our place" now and therefore talk Ashley up or play his disastrous ownership down at every opportunity. They want us to fail and Ashley is the perfect man to facilitate that. Can't say I agree with that like, we were absolutely loved by the neutrals and the pundits during both Keegan's first stint and during peak Sir Bobby.

  3. Looks like they're getting Perisic on loan.

    General press coverage

Proper feel like I'm rimming you at the moment Yorkie but once again you've absolutely nailed it.
  5. Class signing but is there something up with little Seamus?
  6. Yorkie I really don't know how you have the energy on the Chronicle page, you're absolutely spot on with what you say but when you see that the majority of that page are actually against Rafa no wonder Ashley thinks he can do what he wants.
  7. He was probably a bit too pally with Rafa and understands the omnishambles of what's going on behind the scenes and isn't afraid to say it.

    Stanley Nsoki

Rafa tried to get him last summer didn't he, not sure what scuppered it. Wouldn't surprise me if the club are touting Dummett around too if we're signing this kid.

    Sean Longstaff

Genuinely switched off towards the end of last season to try and distance myself emotionally for when Rafa's leaving happened. Can anybody fill me in a bit more on Longstaff and what he's got that's making him being touted for such money? This isn't me being obtuse I just haven't seen anywhere near enough of what I'd like to have of him.

    Joelinton

Guarantee if this goes through they probably said to Rafa he didn't want him and would've preferred Rondon. It's almost like they does this stuff out of spite, spend money for the likes of McLaren, Bruce etc. Just because they're yes men whereas because Rafa wouldn't tow the party line they deliberately spited him.

End product wouldn't go a miss either.

Well he's just signed for Benfica for £35m on my FM save, so that's good enough for me.
  13. South American football expert Tim Vickery believes Miguel Almiron would be the perfect player to fit into Newcastle's counter-attacking style of play https://t.co/rxcAwrU1jF
  14. It was $30m. That's £20m. That's a drop of about £3m I think. Ah fair enough, for some reason I always thought it was sterling being quoted.
  15. Always had a soft spot for left footed #10s whose right foot is only for that purpose.
  16. Interesting how the price seems to have dropped by £10 million all of a sudden.
  17. Kagawa's not very good any more.
  18. Those are contradictory sentences. No they aren't They are, but carry on. How are they contradictory? He's really fit and fast and great at giving an option for a pass but his quality on the ball lets him down If he were just running up and down the touchline like a lunatic all match, I’d agree. He uses his speed well to get into good positions, or drag a defender with him...it’s definitely an area of his game that he’s improved upon and a valuable quality. Feel like he was getting caught off a lot his first season or two, much less so now. Really? I feel like he still often gets caught out ball watching when he's on the back post and teams know this is a weakness. Think I've said for a while that his pace is a huge asset for us but if he had any ability on the ball he'd be playing for a much better team than us as he wastes so many good opportunities. Although like I said he wouldn't have been there in the first place if it wasn't for his athleticism. Ideally you'd like to upgrade him but you know that's not a possibility so make do I suppose.

Nice little mention in there of wor Tony. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46731183
  20. There's an article on him in the latest edition of The Blizzard.

He's been bloody awful for ages now. Always making the wrong decision, holding on to the ball for too long, shooting from anywhere when there's far better options. Really needs to buck his ideas up and regain that form from last season as know that there's a player in there.
  22. Dalglish, Souness, Allardyce. Yup some stinkers there. Not to mention the treatment of SBR. I think the club did the correct thing in being floated so I think Keegan jumped the gun the first time. He still had total control over transfers and the players were totally behind him. If he was offered that scenario now he’d bite your hand off after what he experienced with Mike Ashley. Keegan didn't have full control rgouch, he was told he needed to sell Ferdinand as part of the float.

    Fabian Schär

And drop Yedlin? Big mistake imo, he's a very, very important player for us, his covering is invaluable. Dummett is also one of our more consistent performers, I'd like to stay in a back 4 and have our 4 centre backs fight it out for the two spots. It's a healthy situation to be in. I'm guessing he means with Yedlin as a wing-back? His athleticism will work but yet again today he got into several good positions and his final ball was dreadful.
