  1. Highly doubt Keegan thinks that. The midfield needs the most reconstruction particularly if Keegan has any plans of playing his system back end of last season.
  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/6258664.stm Last year of his contract at Osasuna being the main reason; after playing 4 years there they had originally rejected offers for him as they wanted £6 million euros but Cuellar demanded a move away. Osasuna sold two other of their best players that Summer for relatively cheap.
  3. Carlos Cuellar is also a proven defender in La Liga; a 4th place finish, a finalist of the Copa Del Rey and a Uefa Cup Semi Final with Osasuna.
  4. I haven't really watched him but feel a bit nervous when trying to judge anybody playing in minor leagues. He is a proven top defender at the top level in Spain though; also a key part of the Osasuna side that got to the Uefa Cup Semi Final. Signing him I would of thought would help Enrique in the back four also.
  5. Agreed, I look forward to the possibility of another Boumsong. They are not the same player I think you will find.
  6. Neither Burdisso or Coloccini are the standard the club should be going for. Carlos Cueller is of the standard I would like to see Keegan go for; he was outstanding in Rangers Uefa Cup Final run last season.
  7. Is 34 this campaign and well past his best. He wouldn't get a game at Man City, Villa, Pompey or Spurs. We need a defensive midfielder AND an attacking midfielder IMO. His last 10 games or so of last season in Keegan system would disagree with that. I thought Nicky Butt was arguably our best and most improved player in those matches with Keegan's system, his performance at White Hart Lane in particular I thought was one of the best of any in the season in my opinion.
  8. I would be very surprised if Keegan plays Milner as a centre midfielder. I don't even think he could play right side of a three never mind in a flat centre two. He is a Winger and despite what people say a good one at that.
  9. He wouldn't improve you? Eh? He's miles better than Duff, Emre & Milner. I'm surprised Spurs are letting him go and even more surprised that only Sunderland have made a firm offer. I would agree with that to a certain extent. Thats if Keegan is going to use 4-4-2 next season which looks increasingly likely then N'Zogbia, Duff, Milner, Gutierrez would all be better options in the wide positions. However if Keegan has plans to use his System (4-3-3/Diamond) that was far more successful then I would suggest Malbranque gives us more options then Duff or Milner would. With the signing of Gutierrez though it looks like Keegan is buying for 4-4-2.
  10. Comments from the Blackburn chairman and Aston Villa manager I suggest are a good indicator. "We've had bids from two clubs for David Bentley; one when Mark Hughes was manager, and the other very recently. They have both been rejected" said Rovers chairman John Williams. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_3833881,00.html Martin O'Neil "I wouldn't normally respond to individual links, but as Paul Ince rightly said, we did make a bid for David Bentley," "That was some time ago and Blackburn rejected the bid - as is their prerogative" http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11677_3835438,00.html Recent bid from Tottenham turned town. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/blackburn_rovers/7506621.stm
  11. Not surprised in the slightest Keegan hasn't entered the race to sign Barry; two of the big 4 are desperate to buy him even at the hugely inflated price good player mind. The one I am surprised there has been no move for is David Bentley; he would be top of my list the lack of creativity and goals from midfield needs to be addressed more then anything and he would certainly add that also he would be ideal in Keegan's system right side of the three where Geremi played back end of last season.
  12. Outstanding prospect thought he was going to Manchester City. Would of been a good addition to Keegan's system either left of the three or top of the diamond.
  13. Daniel Levy RE; Berbatov and Keane http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/chairmanspeaksout180708.html Big blow for Tottenham in danger of becoming a feeder club to the Top Four.
  14. The clubs set the price.... I agree however Arsenal, Liverpool, Barca, Chelsea, Man Utd ect won't be paying anywhere near the £23 million Zenit are demanding. If the reports were true that Keegan had the £16-18 million package for Modric then the club might well be in a position that they can offer the nearest to what Zenit want. For Keegan its the Modric/Arshavin type of signing he needs to spire head his 4-3-3/diamond system in my opinion if it is going to be the long term formation. with modric we could look to make that back and maybe more if he were to move on again. unlikely with arshavin given his age. Its a good point I think his age has put most those big clubs off; most notable Arsene Wenger seemed to make a point of how a 27 year old with so much ability could go so long without being noticed. Despite his age I would have Arshavin over Modric at the same price.
  15. He's a prick isnt he. Fabregas Flamini and Hleb were apparently "the" group of mates in the squad so to speak. Why would you say that about a friend? And a manager that has helped you alot? Oh, so he has no choice but be let to leave. Twat. Go. Arsene Can replace him easily. Surprises me the situation at Arsenal. Flamini, Hled, Adebayor all were relatively nothing before Arsene Wenger turned them into top players; playing in a side that play the football every player would love to play in yet all seem desperate to get a move away.

    Who I'd Get

Interesting he provided a impressive 9 assists from Left Back despite playing in a relegation outfit thats quite impressive its likely he is the highest provider from the full back position in the league. Isn't his contract up this Summer? I think he would be good; he is English would be relatively cheap considering his sides relegation and would provide healthy competition with Jose Enrique something thats much needed across the back four.
  18. Ah the "frustrations" of missing out on 4th and getting 5th and having a Uefa Cup Semi Final run. Watching Greame Souness be given the opportunity to completely rip apart a team that had previously finished 3rd, 4th, 5th to plummet to 14th our lowest premiership finish in our history after spending £50 million I'm not sure about you was slightly more frustrating.
  19. Can't believe why both would even consider leaving what they have under Wenger. Both Hleb and Adebayor extraordinary progression since joining Arsenal is much due to Arsène Wenger methods they have the joys of playing in a free flowing great attacking side and they are considering leaving all that I think both would be foolish to leave what they have. Henry is a classic example not always greener on the other side.
  20. Considering Viduka is out and Nicky Butt likely not to be risked I also think Keegan will go with 4-4-2 for Everton; I don't however think it will give us a indercation regards his formation plans for next season though. Most likely Alan Smith, Damien Duff and N'Zogbia will get there starts. Harper Beye Taylor Faye Enrique Geremi Smith Duff N'Zogbia Owen Martins Subs: Carrol, Lua Lua, Butt Caçapa, Forster
  21. Mirandinha you should of seen her! No Mira in the top 100!?
  22. Absolutely laughable every bit of it. Finished 3rd, 4th, 5th what a old senile useless fart he was. "If SBR loved the club as much as he says he did"
