Pretty sure it is a UEFA ruling these days. UEFA decided last winter that to ensure players identities were clearly visible on striped shirts, the names and numbers should he displayed on a plain background. But Southampton supporters have taken the hump and set up a counter-campaign called 'Save Our Stripes'. This ruling [by UEFA] had been introduced, without consultation with either the clubs or the fans. Because Southampton had already produced their shirts, they have been given special dispensation for this season. This was when the saveourstripes.org.uk campaign came out in 2002 or 2003. Pretty certain it is an FA ruling now but i stand to be corrected. f*** f***ing fifa and f*** sep blatter. Sunderland dont have a patch on the back of their kit. I seem to recall other teams not using a built in patch as well. Maybe its to do with the colour of the stripes and the numbers? Saw a clip of Sheff Wed playing in a friendly on Sky Sports news this morning, and the shirt they were wearing didnl;t have a patch, and the numbers were difficult to see. However, maybe the arguement is actually whether the replica shirts should have a patch at all, regardless of whether the actual match shirts have/need them? I'm sure if the replica shirts didn't have the patch, you'd then have people complaining if they had to pay for a patch and numbers to be applied to make it look like a 'proper' match shirt. Its never been a problem for over a 100 years man, its this sep blatter sky sports wank fest world football has been dragged into man. ITS NOT NEEDED. If they ref cant make a name out on a shirt, should he/she really be a ref ?? Killing the game and its traditions. If anything's killing the game and its traditions it's that.

Tavernier? Edgar was utter toss at full back, and he's gone to a club in a higher division.

Another player I don't think I've ever seen

I met Lee Novak last year. Bit of a knob in my opinion. Almost joined Scunthorpe didn't he? Yep. Turned us down for the extra 1k a week. TBF I'd turn down Scunthorpe for an extra 1k a year. Possibly even for 1k less.

My first thought also, they need a bigger challenge imo They seem to be fouling enough as it is without upgrading the size of their challenge.

PM all over that is. He's a machine.

I like that Pompey away kit.

Isnt it a Saturday evening kickoff? £7 to go on Friday, £40 for a hotel, £100 beer tokens for Friday night/Saturday daytime. Or £20 for a bus on Saturday, £10 for 15 bottles of Bud. Nottingham's a great night out though. There'll be plenty of top drawer student skirt on offer.

I just like the sib, what can I say.

Didn't Barton sit on top of someone whilst beating the shit out of them? Gerrard was out of order but not in the same league.

4 ITK's on 3 different forums. Don't go on KD's forum so I don't know what's been said there, but enough different people saying the same thing. Which basically is Huntelaar 'hopeful', Vieira practically finalised. To this, Dave's reply and midds's reply I have this to say:

I`m not annoyed really anymore, we get Eto'o and Hleb + millions, i am the one who's laughing here. He was bound to leave sooner or later anyways, just sucks that it have to be the one player i really like Moratti>> Laporta I felt the same when Wigan signed Sibi off us, similar players in many ways, but in another more accurate way, Sibi is better

They're all I use. CBA with coming to decent conclusions based on fact and evidence, seems like a lot of effort. Just hope for the best. I've bet on Shola to be top scorer ffs.

To an extent I agree, but I think this is the right time for Shearer. Also, his shadow will remain over whoever comes in if they don't get us promoted immediately, regardless of circumstance, which is a major issue. We won't get screwed too badly if Shearer comes in (i.e. we won't go down again, probably top half) and I think this is the right time to show what he's made of. He's done nothing in his eight games at the club to prove that. He's very raw and in our current state i'd rather we weren't relying on an effectively untried and untested manager to haul us out of the shite. Once the situation is sorted out by all means let him have his bash in the hotseat so he can bring in his own players and backroom staff but to give him the job now would be suicide for the club and himself. His results were poor, I agree, I just got a good feeling about him when he was managing us; as though he will have what it takes (to some extent). It's also easier to be a manager in this league imo, a fair few are comfortably good enough for the championship but not good enough in the prem (dog wanker, mccarthy). I can see why there are doubts etc., I've just got a feeling it would work. If that doesn't win you round I don't know what will.

I've definitely never seen him play. Or heard his name before. Just because you didn't pay attention enough. Brazil's 2nd best U-21 striker after Pato. Didn't pay attention enough to what? I don't have the energy to watch Brazilian U-21 games and rank their strikers I'm afraid. Just play Football Manager. It's more or less the exact same thing. I'm stuck on 08, I just won't be able to keep up

Why will you have thrown away £40?

Do you not remember him scoring against us?Incidentally, when he smiles,I'm reminded of a piano...shocking set of choppers on him. Who for? When? (Seemingly not...) Herenveen (sp?) Had forgotten that was him. Didn't see the second leg of that game (I think that was the one he scored in?). Certainly don't remember him as a player. Certainly haven't seen him since then bar my earlier caveat.

Everyone bums Huntelaar... I don't think I've ever seen him play. Maybe a minute or two here or there during the euros.

Despite being not that great in the air I don't think teams use his height properly. If you chip high crosses to the back post for him he'll get there first due to his frame, and with the ball going at a low pace will be able to direct them fairly well either with a flick on or attempt on goal - Liverpool ripped us apart doing this once (think they won 3-1 at our place, Boumsong got sent off). He is useless if you send a ball over at pace mind. I think he's a very good player when a team plays to his strengths. If they don't he can look a complete clown.

Eh? you know a target man can also use his feet and it doesn't necessarily mean he has to be good in the air or he has to be a physicial lump like Heskey. Crouch's close control and footwork is superb imo and he holds the ball up very very well. No one would consider Berbatov a target man but that's exactly what he was for us. Players couldn't get near him becasue of his awsome footwork and he used to just wait until he had sufficient support to release the ball. Viduka was our best target man last year and is pretty weak in the air.
