  1. I've been saying this to people. The Orient result only worries me a small amount more than the Darlo result excited me. It's still pre-season ffs. Yes, there's concern there, but it doesn't actually mean anything with regard to our league performaces this season.
  2. I'm mainly looking forward to that, and getting pissed. Should be good.
  3. It's a weird one that, because his best football by far came in what should have been his toughest season - his first year in England, most games up front on his own - exactly the sort of circumstances you wouldn't expect him to thrive in. But he's regressed noticably year on year since then. Decent reputation mind, abotu £7m would be my guess. Or was it more a case of him being an unknown quantity in the Premiership where defenders backed off because they were scared of his potential pace, before they cottoned on to the fact that really, he wasn't much to worry about after all? Yeah, maybe. I prefer the theory that playing alongside Sibierski is really good, and he's secretly a world class striker who allows others to thrive around him.

  5. I'd be fuming if I'd already got a ticket.
  6. It's somewhat amusing how his reputation's changed on here I guess you can't really have a soft spot for entertaining cult heros when you need someone putting a shift in on the pitch. At least he's given me a few decent memories and made me enjoy football occasionally over the last few years, there aren't too many of our players who've done that.
  7. Either that or not having to forgo a bonus because you don't request to move?

    RIP sale thread.

    Taking the club forward together.
  9. Holding off going or renewing? (That's on the pretty safe assumption the season will be well underway if and when he leaves).
  10. Where is that sat? Is it in the cheapest seats? I only paid £23 in Leazes Level 7 for Everton last season, would hope for (not expect) a little more off. Still pretty good value mind.
  11. It's sad to see him in pain, but Sir Bobby Robson has lived a very long, proud and dignified life. If his time is almost up then so be it; we all have to go sometime. It's a true testament to the man the way he's acted and fundraised since being informed his cancer was terminal and last night was a fantastic way to say goodbye. Thanks for all the memories Sir Bobby; not just from Newcastle fans, but from fans of football the world around. May there be many more like you.

    RIP sale thread.

this Right decision for them not to be there. Had they been it would have taken some of the spotlight away from SBR and the charity.
  13. He was never leaving tbh, Terry is a cunt but even he wouldn't leave Chelsea for Man City's money.. He would, however, use Man City's money to make sure the club he 'loves' gives him a massive fucking pay rise.
  14. Don't you fucking dare leave me on my own here.
  15. Someone's forgotten it's a charity game
  16. Just saw that on SSN, superb goal.
  17. So Hughton filling in for a job as best he can in pre-season makes him a complete embarassment? You can defend his lack of ability all you like, but if you don't see it as a symptom of the maillaise of this club, you're blinder than most, chum. Spot one. Hughton is one of Ashley’s puppets, the man who keep things ‘ticking over’ while the puppet master screws us over some more. Keegan hired him as an assistant manager, and it seemed to work very well early on. He's s*** at being a manager. What should he do? Quit? Yes. He’s actively supporting a policy of ruining the club. ‘I’m only following orders’ is no excuse. He might be good lad with a poor sense of right and wrong, or he might be a money grabbing shit who knows fine well he‘s helping Ashley destroy NUFC. There was some debate at the time whether he was Keegan’s appointment. By that logic everyone associated with the club should quit. That'd be magic. Except there wouldn't be a club.
