Being drafted in as a Dennis Wise replacement apparently. It won't take much to serve better than Dennis did. I'm sure he can cause a racket in trying to rebuild the squad from the net to the front. As long as he gets us players who don't foul much and can play on any surface we'll be fine. Honestly the worst post I've ever read on this forum. That's what I was going for. Right so I've got about £44 in betfair now. Might try and see if I can get anywhere with this (I appreciate it's a low starting value...) by putting on bets I think might win rather than my usual betting technique of wasting £2-5 at the bookies on a friday with ridiculous accus. For anyone who does this, do you have any rules about bankroll e.g. never put more than 10% on per bet etc.? I'll undoubtedly get bored with this after 2-4 weeks and piss it all away on something stupid like the Tour, but it might be more interesting betting on something I actually know a little about.

Good work. I've just booked tickets and hotel also (which hotel you go for?) and am desperately trying to find a cheap solution to travel from London. I cannot be fucked with bus, I don't want to drive and train journey is fucking extortionate. I also hate flying... Looks like it's going to be extortionate train journey! I went with the Thistle Hotel. Anybody had any experience with it? I looked at the train it's fucking well expensive so I've opted to drive, not going to be fun. I flew from Stanstead before but I've driven from my house to Cornwall quite a few times in the past which is only about 20/30 miles shorter a journey, so I'm gonna firm it. Driven (and been driven) from Kent loads of times. Shouldn't be too bad, about 6.5 hours, bit quicker if you mission it later at night. Sunday drive home is a right drag though.

I would love it if a 75 year old posted on here. Based on my experience of the elderly they would probably just argue about the same thing every day and say the same things over and over and over again...

What about AJ? We should win this. My only concern is they have a clever midfield, with Murphy in particular having a very good season. Our ball retention needs to improve but we have enough to hurt them. Win.

But why should he? Nae reason why he should but if I had the amount of money he has, and I thought a local football team was going to go out of business and I could help stop it, then I know I would. He claims he loves football, so why shouldn't he? Shepherd has no moral obligation to Blue Star whatsoever so I don't see why he should. Obviously no obligation in the slightest, but given that he's still heavily involved with business in the area (or so I believe) it might even have been worthwhile financially to him given the goodwill / publicity etc. Would be a nice gesture if we as a club could do something but again there's no obligation in the slightest.

Given that he cost the best part of £6m, unless someone comes straight in with a £3m bid I reckon Shearer will look to get something out of him. Give him a few games up top pre-season, get him properly involved with the first team and have time to make his own assessment as to whether or not he's up to it (and then flog him for £1.5m ). This makes the assumption that Shearer is staying on, obviously. I think we all know what'll happen if JFK comes back.

I've always quite liked F365, it's a good laugh. They take the piss out of every single team going, if you read their mailbox you'll notice that fans from every club have a complex about how hated they are. I've had a pro-newcastle email printed there before as well btw.

ManU only won the title on the last day last year. Their second XI will be trying to play their way into the CL final, plus Fergie will probably want to give the likes of Rooney, Ronaldo 30mins to keep them fresh. As for our game, we outplayed Fulham for vast swathes of the game at the Cottage and whilst they're a decent, well-organised team I can't believe how much respect some people on here are giving them. We should be looking to win this.

Saw that earlier, the standard of contributor on the 606 messageboards (including the Newcastle section) is generally laughable.

Calmed down a bit now, it was a decent performance and not a lot more. We still looked shaky at times, and whilst we had far more possession / territory throughout the match as a whole we were being bossed from about the 40th minute until the first substitution. The midfield was, as always, the weakest link and it needs some serious development if we can stay up next season. Harper 7 Beye 7 Taylor 7 Bassong 6 Duff 7 Guthrie 7 Butt 6 Nolan 6 Jonas 5 Viduka 9 Owen 4 Subs both get a 7.5 for their time on pitch, they changed the game and took their goals nicely. Good marks for the boss as well, spot on with his substitutions, plus the decision to leave Martins as an impact sub looks inspired and having Guthrie on the right rather than an out and out winger gave us extra industry when we were struggling. 3 more points and we're safe for sure imo.

Reasonable point, Chelsea is in Fulham as well.
