Yeah, but I was pretty young. Probably too old to cry about a footballer being sold, but young nonetheless. Was it '97 he was sold? Aye it was. Definitely too old to cry at 11 then. As for Dabizas, I always liked him even though he was a bit hit and miss. In terms of seeming to care for the club the only one we currently compares is Habib.

Beardsley. Loads of others, obviously, but mainly him. I cried the day he was sold, I'm not even joking.

Because Martinez is Spanish and Coyle is Scottish. That's a decent point actually. I now prefer Martinez.
-
Why does Martinez seem to be above Owen Coyle in so many lists? Coyle has been at least as impressive as far as I can tell.
-
And yet you dream of giving noshes. Interesting.

Hmmm. That was how he explained it some time later, not what he was saying at the time. Then it was "too good an opportunity to turn down". I wouldn't trust a word that came out of his mouth, especially considering that Plymouth are still knocking around in the championship.
-
That isn't the point though is it. No-one disputes the fact it's our fault we're in the situation we are. It just seems unfair that we had to play Man Utd twice, and hull get to play them once and their reserves once. Nothing can really be done about it mind.
-
Plymouth fans absolutely hate him. He's funny, but he's not a man of his word. No morals. football & morals? i fail see your point It's slightly different with this one though. This was the club that he loved, wanted to end his career there, was a west country boy himself and had never been happier. Then a club came along so irresistable he had to walk out on them...Leicester. Who were about 15 places below them in the league, and went down that year.

No surprise...but why even conduct that interview this week? What relevance does it have? Wait until what's happened has happened. No class doing that at a point when the clubs future is in the balance imo.

Arguably Pompey '92 was bigger.
-
I'd like to see Jose stay. That's about it from those who've actually played though.
-
and yet bizzarely he's probably, just about our best penalty taker. what was the score in the other games. Yeah, this is pretty important, we need to know how the other games were going.

Admirably wishful thinking. What odds?

If Dyer was limited, then the players that we currently have could only be described using very politically incorrect words. I remember Dyer used to come in for enormous stick on this site before he left and I used to make the same point as you, without him we'd lose any dynamic movement. Well today look where we are and what do we lack? Martins falls into a similar category. Not the cleverest player, but so far ahead of the rest of the dross assembled here as our squad, it seems pointless even having this debate. martins movement is atrocious. players with far less raw speed get themselves into better positions more often. I was shocked to see him make a run behind the defenders against fulham, must be one of the first times it's happened this season (hit the post chance). Maybe Al has had a word with him.
-
Not really as shock to be honest, Marwood for whatever reason has hardly featured since xmas, Godsmark isn't good enough and too small/lightweight. Donniger maybe a little unlucky not to get another year, especially after his goalscoring expolits, finished top scorer for the reserves but i did say earlier in the season that he would probably be released as he would block young Inmans progress. Marwood's been injured since Christmas and has had little chance with first team, bit harsh on the lad to be fair. Hmm... an unbiased opinion from someone who watches the ressies all the time... or the opinion of Marwood's bum boy... I think I know who I'll believe on this one. I wouldn't call Binnsy his bum boy Pilko. He was playing well before his injury and scoring he should have been taken to Mallorca and given a chance. Sarcasm not reached the shores of Norway yet? Not for the Harry-Norway-esque Norwegians. Nor you, judging by the N-O football match thread

I might take advantage of the good odds on ManU to stick a few quid on them. No way I'm betting on our match apart from maybe a ludicrous scorecast when I'm actually in the grond. I don't have a clue what's going to happen, and I'm going to be enough of a wreck without wasting money on guessing.
-
It won't soften the blow in the slightest, and there'll be a piece of you fuming about the bet if we stay up. I don't know how people can bet against their own team, I did it once, never again.
-
Me too, I prefer it to "NUFC is for life, not just the premierleague" slogan. Seems a little less self-congratulatory, and given that our crowds will inevitably drop if we go down it could easily be spun by the press eventually.
-
Newcastle; United, we'll never be defeated.
-
Nearly every game has gone for us in the last few weeks (except our own), that's the main reason we aren't relegated already. If anything, I reckon we're fated to stay up based on other results. Hull and the mackems will feel the same.
-
Benefit to who? He's been absolutely wank for Hull. Got them 2 points against Fulham though. It was impossible for him to miss. Got to be there though.
-
Because it's days since you've seen us play. You've forgotten.
-
Nixon already wants to shift to the blues. We can sure as hell re-jig people's positions. I only think it's fair someone else gets a go at being striker next time, I quite want to play CB. Because you're rubbish up front?
