  1. I agree. If we don't have an option to keep it would be pretty poor though.
  2. Surely got to start tmrw night? Carrol, Enrique and Taylor out. If he manages to jig the team round and Duff is partnering owen I might just lose it. I hope he starts, would still be surprised if he did though.
  3. Seems acceptable enough. I hope this doesn't stop us spending money in other, much needed areas though.
  4. I'd say that N'Zogbia's not a bad tackler and is more powerful than he seems, but his positioning and general defensive awareness are awful, so I don't think he'll ever become even a mediocre left back I'm talking about him as a winger. Does he help the full back during the game (ie do his fair share defensively, cover the full back when out of position ect..). He's not one of those wingers that just stand around and look lazy when they've lost the ball? Does he go in for tackles?. The last thing we need is another pussy tbh. Depends what mood he's in tbh. I'd say he was more of a headless chicken covering ground than someone who wouldn't track back, generally covers a lot of the pitch I reckon.
  5. Come one time to Germany and then compare again the atmosphere with England after you were in a standing section... The Bundesliga is generally known for good atmospheres though isn't it? I just don't believe standing makes that much of a difference, maybe I missed out on the terraces in the 80s etc. For me, as someone who stood in terraces as a kid, its not about the standing, there is a whole culture of positioning that will maximise the atmosphere in a way standing will not. Some lower league clubs don't have allocated seating in their seat stands, and the atmosphere is much better because of it. Where did you stand in terraces as a kid? Aren't you about 22? I used to live in Exeter for a while so went to watch their games. Pretty different to standing in a premiership ground though...

  7. Gave the ball away far too often, but he was the only one who seemed capable of carrying it forward through the middle.
  8. He's probably blaming Taylor for it happening tbh. Bramble would have kept him safe.
  9. Unhurt, but I bet he still thinks Taylor is shit.
  10. Yeah, but you'd boo Mido if we signed him, so no-one gives a shit what you think.
  11. Collison looks a decent player. Sears has done fuck all since scoring on debut. Don't really know anything about the others.
  12. Are you allowed stupid hair that makes you look a tosser if you're south american?
  13. That's a pretty fucking big advantage for this season at least.
  14. Zidane wasn't as good at 21-23 as these two are though.
  15. The story goes that on his trials at Newcastle, we played him in goal, didn't we?? Genuis And people wonder why our academy is so crap. Yep, genius. Of course if you look at what actually happened, it's a half truth at best. Still, why let that get in the way of a good story.
  16. So far Ronaldo's done a great deal more, but I have to agree - Messi's the better talent imo. Hypnotising to watch at times.
  17. More like £27 million at the going rates tbh. I thought they were at parity? It's recovered to a euro being about 90p last I saw edit: got to about 98.5p at one point
  18. Messi's fucking exciting. Not yet in the same class as the real Ronaldo or Zizou, but he may well be. I love watching him play.
  19. More like £27 million at the going rates tbh. That's not too bad, it would have been about £29.4m a week ago!
  20. DHend is a mighty gills legend. Marlon King, Glen Roeder - there are a few links between the clubs!
  21. Aye, I used to be so fkn positive all the time about everything NUFC but now I just feel sick at the state we are in, I do not think Ashley has any intentions at all of spending any money on players, we will get the usual bollocks of how hard they tried and how they only wanted to sign the best and right players for the club. I hated Fat Fred with a passion but at least he had a passion, Ashley is a fat lying bastard and is killing this club. fkn hell, if you can't hack it what the fk are we all going to do?
  22. I'm even tricking myself into thinking we might engineer a good swap deal, even though I can't think of a deal of the sort that's happened since we got Keith Gillespie in part exchange.
  23. I'm too much of an optimist. I'm trying to convince myself that the reason we haven't been linked with anyone I'd want us to sign is the same reason we weren't linked with Jonas or Guthrie before they signed. It'll all end in tears, I just can't help myself!
  24. SSN all over this. There goes some more pace.
  25. We'll cock them, I don't know what you're all worried about.
