  1. 5 minutes away is close enough tbh Anything south of Watford is my indicator That's a pretty shit indicator. London and the home counties are classed as cockneys in my book.

  3. The Citeh takeover was pretty quick wasn't it?
  4. I'm more worried about what happens to HTT's vote when he walks out on the club again. for both
  5. Young's being doing those sorts of performances for a year now, however he never gets the praise that Walcott is getting. Thos two on the flanks for England would be devestating. I agree. I rate J Cole very highly, but how Downing makes the England squad ahead of Young is miles beyond me.
  6. Villa were really good last night, they hammered Spurs - who didn't create a clear chance all game - and deserved to win by more. I was really impressed, particularly with Ashley Young, he looks an awesome player.
  7. Smells like they've had this all rigged up from the off to me or at least courted interest before all this blew up. I shall book a flight there tomorrow and try and sell them something, must be a piece of piss. To be honest though, if they do sell to a rich investor who pumps money into the club, we're still far better off than heading into administration under Shepherd with Big Sam at the helm. It just seems strange how yesterday Ashley had no intentions of selling, then 24 hours later he's having talks with some Arabs or whoever. We should forget about signing Spanish based players which seem to take months to conclude, shop in Arab land where deals take 24 hours or less. The club has been for sale all along, now he's cashing in his chips. Hang on a second, weren't you saying a day or two ago that this was a huge victory for the fans, having Ashley out? Doesn't that somewhat contradict your new theory that it's been for sale all along?
  8. He's as annoying as fuck when talking about transfers, but he often has quite an interesting slant on actual football when you can get him talking about it. I like him around, most of the time
  9. Snipped either side of that. I don't have time to reply to it all, but how can you possibly believe that this was the case?

  11. Has MJ posted recently? Haven't seen him around for a while. I think you'll find a canny bit of positive correlation between the success of THFC and the frequency of his posts tbh. Maybe, but they've been shit for well over a year now, I'm sure he hasn't only been around in the two weeks following the carling cup win.... or has he? He was around in the summer when they were buying Dos Santos, Modric and Bentley too don't forget. I'd imagine that he didn't have too much to say about them selling their two best players!

  13. Said to have fallen out with Keegan. I thought it was a useless sale, just assumed he wanted first team football which KK couldn't guarantee him. Couldn't really see any other logical explanation.

  16. Mate's a pompey fan, reckons Campbell is prob on about £100k, but as with Owen the rumours are anywhere between 80 and 120k. Distin and James will both be on huge wedges as well, wouldn't be surprised if they're up there with us, but I'd be surprised if any of their dead wood is earning a packet a la Smith, Duff.
  17. No intent where Taylor was involved. Can't really say that about Guthrie. Don't know what'll happen myself.
  18. I think Ashley and Co perhaps had good intentions in the beginning, but ultimately only paid lip service to this philosophy and weren't stringent enough with the setup as regard to objectives and also lines of communication with the manager. Ashley imo is right to the extent that this whole operation takes time, but if you don't fill the positions with competent people that demand respect and have serious experience then the project starts to go off course. The Wise appointment seemed a strange one from the start. Don't know too much about Llambias, but Vetere and Jiminez seemed decent appointments from what I've read of them, and they seem to have found some good players, especially for the prices we have paid.
  19. I read about this, very sad. RIP. Also, it happened in Croyden on Friday night, which is where I was.... very worrying.
  20. So you reckon it's the way we applied the philosophy rather than the philosophy itself? Or just that Wise is a bit of a cunt?
  21. Got my tickets today. Not sure I'm looking forward to it as such.
  22. Pretty fair assessment I reckon. Don't think there's any chance Mort will come back mind, doesn't he have a family in London, hence only ever being here on an interim one year deal?
  23. I'm still confused as to why people found the last transfer window horrific in terms of finances, you got some quality players in, 12m for Milner? Laughing all the way to the bank. The thing is, if we'd spent a bit more and padded out our woefully thin squad it could have been a very good transfer window. It was very close to being good, applying a bit of simple common sense that most people could understand could have got it there. Very frustrating.
