I stand by Diego. Little to no chance sadly.

I agree. They were also very shaky up against Derby and Steve Howard's ariel threat. I think they both need someone a bit more physical alongside them.
-
I'd be very surprised if this wasn't the game where Enrique came in and Zog got moved up the pitch. I can see Geremi being the man to make way in a 442 formation.

I agree. The defence has better balance like that.

Fusking sneak a win is right. Get out of jail free, we were very very lucky to get the penalty. I agree. Ludicrous challenge to put in.

That second line's pretty optimistic for you.... you think we'll win a game! Whats it got to do with optimism, or pessimism for that matter. I was honest, and in my opinion realistic. Sorry if that dispels whatever pathetic preconception you were building up. Someone not get any over the weekend?

Sounds like an excellent end to the game.

No more of a robbery than them winning would have been.

Viduka's vision is excellent. He also rarely gives the ball away.
-
Green and Lawro commentating.... see if you can tell which team is getting more support from that combo.

So we should play someone who is nowhere near good enough? How does that help us? ameobi is worse than poverty, yes, but you have to admit he's considerably better than any striker from the reserves and below.

I figured that, but he seems to have overlooked the underlying point behind the two posts I quoted.

if he wiped out the clubs debt, out of his own pocket how would that lie with you ? It's a shame how some things just get overlooked....

I thought Milner demonstrated some of his best and worst attributes last night. When confronted with a stationary defender he is excellent at using his skill to generate the half-yard necessary to whip a cross in, which he did a few times last night. However, every time we're breaking and Milner gets the ball in our half it's almost move over, he's just too slow to drive at, and break down, a team - which is why I'd like to see Duffer and Zog on the wings, eventually.

The game had 0-0 written all over it. However, it wasn't a great performance, but we've got 3 points from the sort of game we seem to have been losing the the post-SBR era. Hopefully we'll get a few more results like this as the season wears on.

Does anywhere confirm if he's a LB or a CB then? Pretty sure the Gossip Column had him down as a full-back, but I'd be surprised if someone of that height plays anywhere but the centre.
-
How can we have 'I told you so' threads without these as the natural precursor?
-
Which Damien Duff is this? The Duff that played for Blackburn and Chelsea, or the Duff that was booed by our fans and apparently not fit to wear the shirt after only a handful of games? Being injured has done wonders for his reputation around here. What's his reputation got to do with it? I just think the team will look more balanced going forwards, and provide the opposition with more problems to think about with that combination of wingers than any other we can put out at the moment.

Butt has his moments but I think Diarra would consistently provide us with a better platform.
-
Milner has done OK over the past 3 games, but I really can't help but think we'll look a much better proposition going forward with Duff and Charlie on the wings. I wouldn't mind having a look at Charlie on the right tbh, he's got a hell of a powerful shot on him if he cuts inside, and the quick feet necessary to do that.

In order of their success so far.. Beye, Faye, Viduka, Roz, Cacapa, Barton, Enrique, Geremi. The first two have comfortably been the best so far imo.
