  1. Taylor impressed there in his first season. I know he's best at CB, but I also know he's a better full back than Carr, and that Faye and Roz are better centre backs than Carr is a full back: bound to improve the team. I can only assume Cacapa is, having never seen him play.
  2. I agree, but Faye will probably be ahead of Cacapa until he's got a bit more match practice.
  3. Don't think so. I can't remember it anyway. I thought it did, and Shearer got the only two goals in the game. Can't remember who against mind. Also don't know if I'm making it up, but I don't think I am....
  4. Howard is pretty good. I'd take Reina over him, but he's probably in the top 7 or 8 in the prem. I think they'd be better off keeping him and saving their money for a class left winger, could use someone with pace to burn in that midfield. Don't look like they're going to be the boring team Moyes has been showing us for so long much longer.
  5. how big a secret? Pretty big I reckon. Maybe even that one about the time you and I did that thing. He's a secretive man you know.
  6. Without doubt. Need a left winger, and Jagielka should do a good job for them as well. A better keeper as well, if we're being picky, but Howard is no slouch.
  7. Good player. Everton will have a good season I reckon, top 6 with a good shot at 5th is Spurs don't recover any time soon.
  8. I'd trust him with a secret.
  9. Been mentioned a lot on this forum over the last week or so that our personnel doesn't particularly lend itself to 433, most notably the strikers. If we're going to keep playing it the key will be how quickly players adapt.
  10. i don't understand or agree with the "fuck England" thing, but i agree with the benefit to us. Agreed. Could be a blessing in disguise.

    Styles a hero?

I thought it was a good idea!
  12. Get Comolli out I say, he's making you worse. Improvement far more noticable under Big Martin.
  13. ...and ManU seething from recent injustices are going to be drinking blood before the game. Maybe not. We know from your assertions that Spurs have started badly due to their DoF, so they can overcome their problems, but you've openly admitted you don't know why ManU have started badly, they're going to be in a real quandry

    nufc.com

I don't mind them advertising things much at all to be honest. That advert was no more annoying than when this site became www.OTTMAAAAAAAAAAR.com, and that was all you could see on the front page.

What we need is a new breed of players, a breed that don't cheat, don't protest in mass at decisions against them and respect the fucking referee. The perfect ref doesn't and won't exist - the better treatment they get the better they'll become.

    Styles a hero?

Why? if he can't do his job properly the last thing he should be getting is a pat on the back. Will the public slagging and a week off make him a better referee? Thought not. Would going "he did well" make him better/good enough? Also, no. Would keeping his gob shut be an even better idea?

Thought this one would provoke more people to look in the thread Also, it's not too dissimilar to the heading F365 gave it, which is where I stole it from.
  19. I dunno about that, Spurs have got better since they got one. I'm just question whether Comolli is all MJ cracks him up to be. He used to bum Arnesen all over the shop when they had him, but now he seems to look down his nose at him. edit: for P-man, obv.

    Styles a hero?

Cheers for that. Absolute joke, he should keep his fucking gob shut. At the very most, something along the lines of "after all the media focus on Rob, we have decided to take him out of the spotlight for this weeks games, after all we want the focus to be on the football and not the referee". He's making his own men's jobs harder there.

    Strongest 11?

If you only take into account the time they've been at the club together there's not much in it, though.

What about Tevez's miss against City at the death? That was a mistake that shouldn't have been made and changed the outcome of the game, but he won't get anything like as much stick for it. I'm not against criticising referee's when they make a mistake, but the extent to which it happens is stupid imo. It amazes me that people criticise referees for wanting to be famous: they're going to be the main talking point after many a match. It's a job that makes you famous, and that's fuelled by the people who supposedly don't want these 'attention-seeking' referees. Something needs to be done about the respect shown to referees in football, and it needs to be done soon. Fair comments. As I said in my first reply though, Keith Hackett has a lot more to answer for than a TV co-commentator IMO. Maybe so, but I think the bloke who wrote the original post was a little narrow minded, I'd expand my criticism to the blanket media coverage of Styles after the game: if they're going to keep focusing on a ref like this then it's pretty unlikely we'll stop seeing 'attention seeking' refs that seem to be so despised. Styles was more talked about than Torres after that game, it's a fucking joke. Also, what has Hackett said? Haven't seen his quotes, link would be appreciated.
  23. So what has Comolli actually done to justify this sort of backing: Who gets the credit for 5th place? i.e. how many Comolli players were an integral part of making Spurs a European team? It still seems to me that Spurs have got worse since he started signing the players.

A superb point in the middle paragraph. Referee's shouldn't get the blame for being conned by cheats, it's fucking hard to spot the difference between a dive and a clip at high speed from ground level.
