I would say: Harsh but fair. Shola has actually done what was asked of him... even Luque has... Owen not so much. However, Owen has been paid fucking lorry loads of cash to play what seems like two games for us ove rthe past three seasons. He absolutely must deliver the goods. I'd imagine Luque was asked to try when on the pitch. In what way can you say he's done what was asked of him? Is "be pretty decent in friendlies" all that's required of him?

I'd still say we couldn't ever really have kept Chopra on. He seems to have come on with first team football, but he never showed anything here to suggest he would make a regular first teamer, and he chose to leave because that was the case.

I agree. We've developed, for very little outlay, a strong squad that can be relied upon to do a good job in almost all circumstances. If we have a decent year in the league we've got the foundations laid beautifully for bringing in some really top class players next summer.

Like you said it's a big if when it could have been a certainty and we would have had £6 million in our bank account. To jepordise the deal for another million based on appearances isn't worth the risk imo, so I stick with my initial reaction, WE FUCKED UP!!! Don't agree tbh. Maybe others don't think he's crap, but they certainly don't rate him as highly as we do. While no one thought he was crap, the same could be said for Pedro. I think us, Liverpool and Everton fans rate him a lot higher than he is rated generally. Arguably one of the most underrated players ever though. I agree. Stunning player, but no-one who supports a club he didn't play for seems to think he was that good.
