I don't think that cross for Nolan was meant for him, I think he was aiming at Shola who ducked it to let it run through. He did get the 'assist' for Taylor, but passing it 5 yards sideways and then watching your teammate spank it in from 25 yards isn't the most amazing piece of play. Cracking ball in on Saturday though, best cross I've seen him hit for us (little to no competition mind).
  2. He was woefully shit by the time he was at Pompey, can't imagine he's improved since then.
  3. When did Ashley hold his hands up ? Google 'Mike Ashley apology' if you're curious. Yeah, i know what he said but it was just words mate. Do you really think he is sorry? If he REALLY did hold his hands up and admit he was wrong why haven't we got a proper manager yet and why is the swuad still paper thin? The mans a proven gobshyte, him and his cockney casino managing baboon. Well for me the important thing is that he's accepted at least his share of the responsibility through that apology. He's admitted that he's made mistakes, that's enough. I don't particularly want anyone to grovel, and I don't know 'how' sorry he is. However, I'm sure he feels there are others who should be holding their hands up as well. The manager situation has been affected by his decision to sell. I can't see that it's an indication of how 'sorry' he feels. Actions speak louder than words. "The club admitted it had repeatedly and deliberatly misled and lied to the fans."
  4. Big CB that can play Lb we need a squad not just a first XI. Think he's played rb more than lb, he's a right footed player. Has been known to slot in at holding midfield too. As for belhadj: good and exciting player but he's an attacking left back rather than a winger really, comes into his own overlapping. Fast as fuck, but I'd stick with José anyday.
  5. Smith would have been well up there before this season. I don't actually think he's been great this season but he's doing a job now.

    Nile Ranger

I agree, ive actually been very impressed with hows he's played. Bare in mind he's still only 18 he has a lot of things going for him. Its very very difficult for physical type strikers to make impressions on games at the age of 18 he's done it a few times. Theres definitely someting Drogba-esque about him, still a huge amount for him to learn though. Also bear in mind the rest of the strikers are pretty shit, so it's not that big a leap of faith to think he might be the best one day. He looks as though he has something about him and I think a goal would do him the world of good. Impact sub is probably the best role for him at the moment I think.

Ranger's looks like he could go on to be the best, possibly by some way if he sorts a few things out. He's not there yet though.
  8. Depending on cost obviously, but I'd have him. Would be a big upgrade from Khiz as a 3rd choice CB, would give us a more formidable (physically) option of playing Taylor at RB and even if he isn't a great coach the likes of Kadar and Taylor would learn just from playing with him, he's always been an intelligent player and good communicator on the pitch. Common sense to get him in until the end of the season on a reasonable wage.
  9. Abidal's looked shit every time I've seen him play for France. Cole is head and shoulders in my opinion which is somewhat limited by essentially only watching English football.
  10. Skirge, have you lost it? We won't be signing £11m, £100kpw Bridge from Man City, where he starts.
  11. Bigger payday for the really small clubs if they play away at a big name though.
  12. And the little shits thank you by supporting Chelsea? Scandelous.
  13. Harsh to have Emre on the list, we made a profit on transfer fees.
  14. Over £32m in transfer fee and wages alone. And that's only based on £80k per week. Edit: forgot about the FA claim Mowen, good point. Still miles more than Luque cost though. He wasn't useless his whole time here though. We might as well have set fire to the money we spent on Luque for all the good it did us, fucking garbage. I hate my namesake as much as anyone but Alberto still has to win for me.
  15. Got £10m of it back. Luque for me.
  16. By the way, 2.04 on Man City (full strength) at home to Arsenal (anything but) is a great price imo.
  17. £8 on Chelsea and Man City at 3.05. A silly £2 on Hamburg, Valencia, Genoa, Anderlecht and Celtic draw returns £60. I don't know why I put that on, I probably won't follow it and I know nothing about any of the teams.
  18. Youth Soccer in the US has this. You get 6 pts for a win, 3 for a tie and zero for a loss. You also get bonus points for each goal scored to a max of 3. So a 3-1 win is 9 points for the winner and 1 for the looser and a 1-1 tie is 4 points each. Tournaments offer a 10th point for a shutout. Sounds utterly, utterly s***. I think it's designed to separate teams in standings for short youth seasons of 8 or 10 games. It also rewards the scoring of goals, as winning 3-2 gains a team more points that winning 1-0. The 'Goals Scored' column would do this.

  20. Retrospective action to be taken against cheats is a good one.
  21. Could have some legs this - too often do teams go 2 or 3 goals up with a good chunk of the game to go, and just sit on that and slip back into 2nd gear. Getting your money's worth and all that jazz. That said the team in front would argue they can do what they want with that lead and if they think the opposition has goals in them, playing more conservatively would suit them better. Put yourself in the 2-0 situation - if you're 2-0 up, and you're playing a pretty decent side who score regularly, what do you do? Need to recognise the defensive element of the game as well, I guess. In conclusion, I don't know. I think it's a shit idea. The object of the game is to win, not to jump through hoops whilst doing it.
