95% of professional footballers don't really give a shit about the club they represent. Of those that do care you've probably only got about 10% who would be prepared to take a pay cut under any circumstances (assuming they could find another club).

Which is one of the many reason I refuse to accept the "poor Hughton" crap. No-one claims Hughton is any good though. I feel sorry for him because he's massively out of his depth and trying his best (which, sadly, isn't good enough) to help out.
