Keane? Old player with no resale value, high wages, on his way down as a player. Yes i wouldn't say no if it just was on loan for 6 months and an acceptable loan fee, but that's a different matter, they wont let him go out on loan anyway probably. You keep saying that maybe he's not good enough for spurs but he's good enough for us? Wouldn't it be better to go for younger players with quality enough for now, but also has the potential to be better than "ok for us" ? Some players can, i repeat can be a good investment for now and the future, but keane's not one of them, yes he could be seen as a short term investment helping us stay in the premiership, but there's other players who could help us with that it hink and at the same time be a sound investment for many years to come. Example, say that the only way of us signing Keane is by buying him from spurs for a minimum of 5-6M? Wages? probably 35-40k/week, and that's probably counting quite low. I would much rather add 2-3M on that and go for Gervinho who's the better player imo and he's only 23 years old, yes he's not used to the PL but i have no doubts about him adapting pretty quickly. He's the much better investment comparing the two and he's got the future ahead of him and if it turned out as we sold him in the future we would probably loose less by selling him than keane in a couple of years, we might even make a big profit on him if we signed and sold him in theory (spelling?) And yes i have seen him quite alot on tv, and yes i think he would be willing to come here. Saying that, it's almost certain that Ashley would say no to a permanent transfer of Keane, as well as it is almost certain that he wont fork out 8-9M for Gervinho. But it's just my personal view regarding Keane and how things should be done. And to be honest i think AShley would rather go for my option if he had to pick one, not that i see him going for any of the two as said.

Cant blame the lack of effort Hopefully we will know soon anyway.

Kaizero Did you get any info from Enrique regarding Ben Arfa?
-
According to swedish press Stoke are interested in Seb Larsson as Pennant's price is too high, and that Birmingham aren't willing to offer Larsson his 25K wage demands. If that's true surely 25 isn't that much for a player like him.
-
Not that it says anything for the future but am i wrong if i say that Ranger looks like a more hot prospect than Carroll did when he was 19? Still raw but he surely has potential, hopefully he can develope to a very very good player as well. What a strike force we could have then, I wouldn't want to be one of the defenders against those two. I know it's too early to say now, but it surely looks promising.

If the board decide to sell him it will be much more worse than when we sold Cole. I just wish that the club would make an official statement that he's not for sale, at any price. Wouldn't surprise me if they accepted a bid between 15-20m. But imo he's worth alot more than that considering other transfer fees lately, and that he's just 21 and one of the best players in the PL this season. fuckin hell, how hard can spelling be...

 fuckin hell hehe

So good being single again, i have so much more time reading Newcastle news, of course there's some negatives about it also, well at least i still have my right hand and Ben Arfas goal against Everton.
-
Just asked Jose. Haha cheers mate. Not surprised you did
-
i wonder if any of our players have any idea about when Ben Arfa is coming back to Newcastle continuing his rehab.
-
Didn't Hughton play a massive part in why Ben Arfa wanted to come though? Yes he did, didn't think about that tbh, cant remember how early Hughton dismissed the rumours either, maybe he did'nt know from the beginning, but that's probably me thinking a little bit too much
-
that's what i thought as well, not sure though.
-
Well when we were linked with Ben Arfa it really sounded like Hughton had no idea about it. Smokescreen i know, but somehow it really sounded as if he didn't know anything.
-
I wonder when he's going to turn up in Newcastle again.
