I agree. I don’t want him gone either. Within time he will be gone anyway if things don’t change for the better in a year or whatever.

So much to be said, and a lot has already been said, and this too probably. But I really love how both willing as well as good he is at finding space and offer his team mates an option to pass to. It’s so clear and obvious how good his awareness and off the ball movement is. He does it so well so that he often gets more time on the ball. When he doesn’t get time on it he’s brutally calm and composed and gets away with the ball in possession time after time. Such good technical ability.

I like ASM and there is obviously the chance of him becoming an effective player. He needs to learn when to pick the easy pass and when to go on a solo raid. Often he tries the “too long” solo raid. He rarely does the pass and move and then get the ball back again to continue. It’s not always necessary to have the last shot or pass before a eventual goal. In my opinion he stands still too often when he receives the ball and takes too many touches even the times when he ends up playing the simple pass. Play it quickly to begin with and then offer your team mate a new passing option. I know he has a lot of opposition players against him, doubling up and he ends up in too tight and crowded situations. But he also invites this by either receiving the ball being too static, or holding on to the ball for too long or taking too many touches or players on. When he finds the correct balance of when to do what, evaluating correctly, only then can he fulfil his potential and talent. Having said all that, it will be interesting to see if Eddie can change him for next season,If he listens and follows instructions. Safe to say that he could then be one hell of a player, even if his end product lets him down at times (can be worked on) He can be a much better player now with quite a few tweaks and some better confidence. Right now the only players we have that I properly hope we build the team around is Bruno, Trippier and Targett. Obviously other players have massive roles to play as well.

Despite being under pressure from players and with no good options early on he still came out with the ball in possession, when at times, it shouldn’t even be possible. I want him box to box. Our composer, the one pulling the stings and dictating the flow and tempo and everything about the game. Get one slightly more defensive minded and a attacking midfielder and we are set in this area. Bloody hell, he is a player and a half.
