I think his ceiling is even higher. Can see him becoming a better player if he leaves Chelsea for us.

Hopefully there’s a breakthrough early this coming week. Oh, wrong thread. Thought it was the Guehi one.
-
I have no clue about his character or attitude apart from the pen incident(s). If he’s good enough in this department then I would be very happy if we got him. He’s not perfect by any means, especially his decision making from what I’ve seen. However, I like his attributes a lot and his ceiling is very very high potentially. Exciting player even if not the finished article as mentioned. Think a move for him to us would be great for everyone concerned. Him and Guehi and id be very happy.

I dont see Chelsea as one of them unless it was us going for the likes of Sterling or other slightly older ones. Definitely wouldn’t mind the likes of Madueke to name one. Players with their best years ahead of them, ones that haven’t really got an honest chance in a settled setup. I wouldn’t mind young and hungry players with desire and ambition. I don’t mind the 18-23 year old bracket from elite clubs. Unless they’ve been given a fair shot at it and still looked far away from going anywhere in their careers.

Scott Wilson saying that CP refusing to budge on their price for Guehi. At least someone else on X is saying that’s what SW says.
-
Aye, but he gets better and better and will continue to do so. He has the natural ability to improve even further. ASM for example just didn’t have that natural ability when it came to hitting a ball cleanly.
-
Good guess tbf. Albeit an easy one.

IF they get close to 40m for Andersen then they won’t sell Guehi for anything less than 65m to us, if at all.

There is zero chance that Gordon wants to play anywhere but LW long term. I’m sure he ia ok with the odd game at RW. It’s his favourite position and where he wants to play and where he is at his best. He knows that when it comes to England there’s a spot out on the left that is there for the taking and that’s what he wants and probably will get in the near future. I also wouldn’t put him anywhere but left personally. I don’t care if it means Barnes on the bench. Good impact sub if we are looking for a goal. I also don’t like Barnes when it comes to his general play. Yes he will score goals but I also think we won’t be as good on the whole as a team with him in. There’s more to football than one player scoring goals. Especially if we want to go to the next level. I’m happy with him as a quality squad player.

I’m always a bit cautious about the idea when it comes to signing “cast offs” from the elite clubs. I’m just not sure if they still have the genuine hunger and desire after such a club. Usually come with massive wages as well. I’m sure there could be good signings made this way but I’d rather see us picking the absolute best players from lesser clubs. Tonali for example was different as he was a key player. Hypothetically someone like Raphinha would be great, but I just think that the perfect move for him would have been after Leeds if it was compared to now back then regarding our club and where we stand.

I think this is made up. Not sure but I read some people saying that he hasn’t said this anywhere. Haven’t double checked though. Wouldn’t surprise me really. Twitter is a proper rat hole most of the time. Not sure why people would do similar things.

Going to say it, you’re wrong mate He’s a more clinical finisher but apart from that Gordon’s a much much better player overall.
-
Yeah it might have been a bit disappointing if he had miscontrolled it “like them”. But make no mistake even if he had done so it wouldn’t say a lot, because he will fuck up those situations many times before he gets consistent and prolific, if he does. The best players do so as well. He has a long way to go before we can even compare him to Nunez or Jackson despite them missing a lot. Hopefully it won’t take too long time wise but he hasn’t proven anything yet. (Well they can be compared but much to prove)
-
I wasn’t being entirely serious though I kind of exaggerated quite a bit. What I was trying to say is that you can’t really say too much because of ONE run and ONE finish. He has potential and good raw ingredients and looks like he could be a handful so fingers crossed he develops well. I like the gamble of signing him, could prove to be good business. It’s just that sometimes we big some players up because of a couple of good things. He was decent today 👍 Also, I’ve done 100m in just over 10 seconds when I was young. I used to sprint. Not that it matters.
-
Really? I’ve done the same finish 50 times and even some better and I don’t have any talent even close to what he has. It was a simple run and finish. He has many good raw ingredients and potential and hopefully he can grow into a very good player. Just find it funny how we (myself included) sometimes big up even the most simple things.

Same here. I’ll give it time, still a few weeks to go and I hope and think we’ll get it done. If we don’t, there's no two ways about it, it’s a genuine failure. Not that the world will end because of it though.
-
Next summer they’ll still get 40m+ no problems, easily. Also quite a few more clubs will be after him.

Poor half so far.
