Why? I don’t see them going for Gordon anyway as I reckon they would want a more technical/creative player. Wouldn’t surprise me if they went for Leao or similar instead.

Don’t know what we can or can’t do but going into the new season without some sort of CM added this summer is suicidal. Especially if we don’t sign a similar type of player like Pedro which lessens the burden on midfield to some degree at least. It must happen imo. We don’t do it the. It’s asking for massive problems over the season. Ideally we get rid of both Willock and Longstaff and sign one because these two really don’t offer us anything (especially not reliability as backups). Im also not entirely convinced when it comes to Joelinton’s fitness/availability over a 50+ games season now when he’s getting older. Even without Europe Bruno got absolutely knackered. If midfield doesn’t function properly then neither will our attack/defence.

Don’t know about others but I sure do enjoy supporting the club like. I imagine that even the most frustrated ones do as well. Then there’s the obvious melts on X but that’s a different matter.

I think the biggest reason that people have a slight frustration is mainly because their gut feeling is that it’s gonna take quite a bit more time until we get some of our deals deals done. With every week we are more likely heading towards the feeling of not getting enough in despite having all the time in the world to prepare and get things done. Personally I’m not too frustrated yet as it’s only July the 7th. But I get a little bit more frustrated when I actually think at the possibility/risk of us not doing enough this window to both strengthen and get a bigger squad to be able to cope with CL. Obviously won’t be pointing any fingers or moan about hypothetical things yet, but the thoughts have crossed my mind, still. Yes you could say it’s pointless to think about things like this hypothetically until we know for sure. It’s just that this is such a massive window for us and I genuinely don’t think we’ll do enough and get the 4/5 players in that we really need. No one would be more pleasantly surprised and happy than me if my gut feeling turns out to be totally wrong. I’m just not sure about the people in place having the skill and experience to deal with these sort of things. Time will tell if course. I’m at ease for now. Hopefully this week we can get a couple over the line. Would be a very welcomed boost.

I think we wanted him to stay, but he doesn’t want to stay and be second fiddle at best. Especially on a lesser type of contract. I think we ideally would have wanted to keep him. I wouldn’t no matter what type of role/contract.

Probably more his decision than ours.

Are we the only CL team in the league that hasn’t strengthened yet? Hopefully we will sooner rather than later. It’s still early but I’m not surprised to see it taking a while for us. It almost feels like we don’t even start working on deals beforehand (window opens) Gut feeling is so similar to one of those games though, you know when you dominate but you just never look like scoring in a million minutes

Difference being that they have very technical players as well as being great when it comes to ball retention. They can mix it up and control games when needed. PSG is what I’d like us to be as a team of I had to pick one.

Not my preferred type of player but I’m still not gonna complain and I’m happy to see another Swede get in as well. I think he will do well. Exciting times when thinking in terms of transitions and what we can do in some games. Less so when it comes to controlling the games and ball retention. Hopefully with Botman and a GK we can compensate a fair bit in this area. Personally I’m really really hoping for a bit of guile and creativity to come in to play between Isak and midfield, and not necessarily a pure #10 weak dwarf. Think that would make a nice difference for our variety as well as opening things up for our wide players where we lack a bit technically at times. JP would have been perfect in many ways.

If we get him then I really hope we get someone in similar to Joao Pedro. Giving us a bit of extra from central areas between midfield and Isak as well as opening it up a bit for our flanks. Variety and all that.

It will be rejected is my guess. That Gyros guy will be stubborn. Will take at least 60 imo.

Pretty sure we will. I’m pretty certain however that we won’t get as many in as we should, and probably could have afforded. Mainly because of running out of time. Having said that, I think it’s pretty poor if we don’t manage to bring in even a single one for preseason (Or at least around the beginning of it.

Hopefully we can get him before he retires.

I'm sure we will get players in, but i very much have my doubts about us getting enough in to not suffer badly because of the extra games in the CL. We've had tons of time to prepare and improve the team and squad. Hopefully my gut feeling is wrong and we can bolster the whole squad to cope with the extra games.
