I hope we will try again and go for a player similar to JP who can play between the lines. That variety and link between midfield and attack would give our wide players as well as Isak much more space I reckon.

And if we would have signed him you would have said something along the lines of it not being any issue and that Eddie will sort it out and that he’s probably just got bored/frustrated at West Ham because of how poorly they’ve done I doubt anyone on here would have had an issue with it and all would be excited.

I do. One is extremely injury prone and the other one doesn’t contribute anything unless playing regularly. If we have the chance to get 30+ for them there’s no way we say no in this case. Even if we signed one quality and reliable CM alone it would make us stronger overall than having those two.

20m for Willock and I’d snap their hands off. Would be around 30m for him and Longstaff that we could actually use for players that bring something to us. Reliability as well.

You don’t have a set midfield if you are in the CL and supposed to compete in all the other competitions. Well you might have a preferred setup for the very most important games. IF we signed a CM good enough to compete with the current 3 then all of them would get tons of games. Have to have the ability to rotate without a massive drop in overall strength in the area. Players will need this or be knackered. Injuries and suspensions and so on. Not even sure about Joelintons fitness going forward now when he’s getting older and when you consider his playing style. Would be insane to expect our current three best midfielders to play most games at their highest level or even near that.

We will bring a CM in, 100% certain.

How much would Mateus Fernandes cost? 30-40? I like what I’ve seen from him and I think his potential ceiling is very high.

Ideally yeah. But we would still be better off than we are now if we get even only one if that player is highl quality and reliable.

Would not mind Fernandes from Southampton if available for a decent price. Or if we sell Willock as well then getting a top quality one.

If we can get 10-12m for Longstaff and close to 20m for Willock it would be great business tbh.

Now please get someone in the Pedro mould who can drag the opposition out of shape to create space for Isak and our wide players. As well as the linkup between midfield and Isak so that he’s less isolated up front.
