  1. "It hasn't been a Rolls Royce performance so far but a certain Bentley's done okay."
  2. Apart from King and Woodie (who have bad injury records so can't be considered imo), you've only got one really good player For me, Berbatov, Lennon, Keane, Malbranque (squad) are all good players, the first two at least are really good IMO.
  3. something that implies the fans and the media think along the same lines. Sure. Just get rid of the words "and media" altogether I reckon. For the media to turn on Keegan, they'd have to perform an about turn followed by another one anyway.
  4. I don't like the wording of the title. I'd prefer "what would it take for the fans and media...?" Something that implies that the situation is hypothetical rather than inevitable.
  5. Am I the only one to find him a very frustrating player this season? He'll beat two or three players, then fall over the ball or something. As someone else said, he's got potential, I think, to be very good. A player like that costs good money, lets make them pay it.
  6. Yawn. Everytime Owen goes through a lean spell in front of goal, people start speculating that he's finished. He's had it his whole career.
  7. Butt was awful today. Worst player on the pitch.
  8. Unbelievable that the Times prints that nonsense.
  9. When I was a young lad and went to training with my mam and sister, we always found Keegan a top top bloke for getting a picture with or his autograph. I remember he once specifically went up to my sister for a picture when she'd been overwhelmed and knocked towards the back of the crowd. Like I said, he always came across as a top bloke. Looking back, most of them were canny although I vaguely remember that some of them snuck out the back to get away with minimal fuss (Albert and Hottiger spring to mind). I think Srnicek was dead canny as well.
  10. He's actually quite an intelligent guy IMO. I like the line "Nothing that's built in a day will last anyway". It's something that a lot of people should bear in mind if/when instant success isn't happening in the next few weeks and months.
  11. You see, he's just tried to give another one away. Blocking a show with his arm on the six yard line but the referee was having none of it. It just highlights how big an achievement it was for him during the week.
  12. It's a fair question. It's quite an important thing to have good team spirit. That's why managers often take players away to bond with each other.
  13. I see that Carragher actually managed to give away a penalty last night. Credit to the lad, he's been trying to do that for years now and he's finally managed it.
  14. What about highlights tonight? EDIT: just had a look. It's on Football First. Don't have sky sports any more though. Got Setanta Sports. Anyone know if this "Midnight Goals" programme shows all the day's goals?
  15. Exactly. No game is unwinnable. The trouble is, they'll expect us to attack them so they'll be set up for it. If it was a surprise that we went at them, we'd stand a better chance.
  16. The scoreline won't flatter them like it did last time. I'm going to predict a feisty performance that ultimately ends with us on the wrong end of a 1 goal deficit.

    Berbatov

I have to say that I don't understand why Berbatov gets so much adulation. He's a good player but he's not that good.
  18. Booo! Get off the stage!
  19. The media massively overrates them because they're a London club.
