  1. I am liverpool fan btw. I think Benitez was being truthful here. He did not want to be seen as a hypocrite after his relationship with Jose. This was what he said "You know my relationship with him, it is better that I do not say anything. At the moment I am more worried about Birmingham boss Steve Bruce." I honestly dont see anything wrong with that. To be fair I think the media coverage has been a bit over the top with the spokesman for the Prime Minister reading a statement. What the hell was that. He was a great manager , agreed. It is not like he died or anything. He is gonna walk into one of the top jobs in Europe in a years time. As for Sam and Rafa, they have a bit of a tiff going on from the Bolton days. This is just a continuation of that. Danny B ... I wish you would not resort to name calling. We are guest here and behave the same way. Good post. But I'd say that the media coverage has been a little more than 'a bit' over the top. It's not like he's dead or has been badly mistreated. And I'm one of the people that was sorry to see him go.
  2. He was never 'great' really, was he?
  3. Seems a fairly strong no. And yet, it's being reported that Spurs tried contacting him five times.
  4. Some people should be genuinely embarassed if the things they write on here actually constitute their fully thought out opinions.
  5. Capello has his team's playing equally as boring football as Mourinho.
  6. Stupid footballing decision by Roman Abramovich IMO and a disappointing one in terms of the loss of a great character from the english game.
  7. The failings have been there in all the games this season bar 40min against Bolton and 10 man Wigan at home. The failings of Alan Smith have been there in all those games too, it doesn't stop you being "N.O.'s OFFICIAL Alan Smith Supporter 07/08."
  8. That's a laugh, you deluded c***s have been playing the victim for years. Poor old, underachieving Newcastle Utd, the small club with a big stadium, full to the brim with fat replica top wearing, booing tossers. The only thing we claim to be the victim of is mismanagement. What was the latest whinge from Benitez? Something about the Premier League deliberately giving them fixtures to make it harder for them to win the league? Even created a dossier apparently.
  9. That's ace. It's true, though. Last season, I heard he went up to a lad in the stands and said, 'I'm gonna do this next slide for you, champ,' then he ran half the length of the pitch, dived in two-footed with as much gusto as he could summon, and high-fived the little scamp as he was sent off. mackems.gif
  10. Any chance to play the victim of something and you'll get Liverpool supporters crawling out of the woodwork
  11. Agreed.....Smith is getting alot of stick but he hasnt played in his best position yet and he would be more effective than Ameobi,.e ball wont jus bounce off him everytime I would bet my savings that, all things being equal, Ameobi would score more goals over a season up front than Alan Smith would. Whether you want your strikers to do more than just score goals or not is a different matter but, for me, Ameobi is ahead of Smith to play as a striker.
  12. He had a poor game but he's a useful squad player for us.
  13. I agree. I've never seen such a big, musclebound man who could outmuscle almost anyone in professional football that is (usually) so timid, weak-minded and who spends so much time picking himself up off the ground. There are times when I think I could beat him in a 50-50.
  14. Yeah, like on Saturday, February 10, 2007? One mistake, on one occasion.. Yeah, he must be the worst keeper ever Which was blatantly my assertion.
  15. Yeah, like on Saturday, February 10, 2007?
  16. Should, but would they? Yes, too much class in the side. On the proviso that the game is competitive, i.e. not a friendly.
  17. U21's in the last 12 months don't count. Right. Missed that first time around.
  18. Steven Taylor ahead of Jagielka? Milner ahead of O'Neill, Taylor?
  19. hmmmmmmm that actually sounds what the real alan shearer would say The sort of thing Shearer would say was that Newcastle fans wanted to win the FA Cup more than the league. Which was equally as crazy. I would rather win the FA Cup than the league Yeah, but you apparently celebrate throw ins so nobody's going to take you seriously.
  20. Both equally. I'd rather see Newcastle win something big than see England win the World Cup though. The main advantage about watching England is that you know that the vast majority of the players are 100% loyal to the shirt and will give everything they have in any (competitive) match. There aren't any questionable loyalties.
