  1. Getting boring already Very few people if any are saying that we should sell just to get the money. The forum is split between those who blame the club for any high profile sale even if the players themselves want to go and those who are saying that if they want to go and we can't keep them, then sell BUT invest wisely, get a decent replacement and beef up the squad. I think this board is also split between people who are told by bitter experience that our hierarchy will NOT spend the Carroll/Enrique cash properly and fully, and those who choose to trust blind faith.
  2. Surely Zoggy will demand far more than we are willing to pay him.
  3. Less of the little. I'm 6ft 4. As is Mike Williamson. Hmmm.... It's more likely to be Stevie Taylor, trying to squeeze an extra couple of inches on. Ronaldo: owned by Steven Taylor...
  4. Jesus wept. Did I use quotes when I summised (look it up) your opinion of Williamson? No. So quit whining, man.
  5. As late as February, you were saying Williamson was utter gash and Taylor had to replace him, having said you'd rather have Taylor than Joleon Lescott playing alongside Colo. Link me to this post in February, please. Complete lies, btw. And what on earth has Joleon Lescott got to do with Mike Williamson? Stop mentioning him. He's another shocking defender, just like your pal. Here you go: Jan 17: Taylor's also a more capable defender (than Williamson). Jan 17: Taylor clearly has the better attributes. I'm not a big fan of his, but he's far more capable than Williamson. Jan 17: Not saying that Taylor is ideal, either. But he's got a lot more going for him. Feb 7: Lescott has ability but he's not an ideal partner for Coloccini. Rather have Saylor alongside Colo. Feb 7: He (Williamson) can and will be dropped the second Saylor is fit. And rightly so. Feb 15: It's been years since Taylor's been shown up like Williamson was against Arsenal. Feb 19: Taylor's far better in the air. Right. And where is 'utter gash'? I maintain most of what i've said there. Although obviously i've changed my mind about the pecking order, given that Williamson's really stepped up and Taylor looks worse than ever. Just stop it, seriously. You asked for links. You got 'em. Seriously, you can't shout the odds - as you routinely do on here (often in the most patronising manner possible) - and then whine when people point out the inconsistencies in your arguments. So now it's ok for you to change your mind on a player, yet how many times have you come out with "I told you so weeks/months/years ago" when other people on here do the same? You also said Williamson was "weak", "very, very poor on the ball" and "as slow as they come". If I misconstrued that as you believing he was utter gash, my apologies.

  7. Aye. A bad game today against a World Class Forward, and everyone is seemingly forgetting the rest of the season he's had (at his 1st attempt) in the Premiership. Yesterday was a long way from being Williamson's only poor game this season.

  9. Aesene Wenger was hardly going to turn round and say, "ner I reckon he was s****, like" when quizzed on the matter, he'd have come out with the same generic praise if f***ing James Perch had won the award. Dear oh dear. what an uteerly pointless post, still waiting on you to list all these dominant performances you've witnessed by Scotty Parker by the way... Pot. Kettle. From recent memory, Parker was brilliant against Liverpool the other week, and against Stoke in the Cup.
  10. Yep, he has trouble spotting a decent midfielder does Arsene... Seriously, what has that got to do with anything? Does that mean you gage all your midfielder opinions based on what he says? No, I was merely making the point that a manager who some may regard as a decent authority on good midfield players has described Parker's season as "outstanding", while the people I was debating with on this board - one of whom claims to be a particular authority on West Ham - insist he has been outplayed in most games this season.

  12. I actually merely said I thought he had been superb this season. But never mind.
  13. Yep, he has trouble spotting a decent midfielder does Arsene...
  14. Christ, so now he's to blame for them being second bottom. Is Charlie Adam to blame for Blackpool being in the bottom three?
  15. So does Arsene Wenger, evidently. And almost every living West Ham fan. Still, you know best. Sigh. He shows more virtues in terms of effort and commitment compared to his teammates and has the odd moment of genuine quality (you may have watched in awe at these occasions on MOTD). He does not however dominate the opposition or ever take games by the scruff of the neck like the media myth would have you believe. Basically, do you remember when he played for Charlton? There was a similar aura around him at that time, although he was a slightly different kind of player back then. He went to Chelsea, people realised what he did at Charlton wasn't anywhere near good enough for a top club and he stepped back down to his natural level. Now he's back at another shitty London club where he again looks like the dogs bollocks by mere association to dross and he's being overrated to the hilt once more. Infact West Ham probably isn't his natural level. I'm being harsh, because he'd comfortably slot in at a mid-table side, but that still doesn't change the fundamental point that I'm making. Being above average quality in a s*** team does NOT make you the best player in the league. Jees. Double sigh. Why would Wenger adhere to "media myth" and call Parker's award "justifiable" and his season "outstanding"? Oh, and unless you're getting DVDs sent from abroad or are watching all their games oniline, I've seen just as much of West Ham live as you have. I do remember him at Charlton - a genuine box to box midfielder who suffered at Chelsea for being miscast (as Makelele's understudy) as a purely holding midfielder, and was similarly misused at Newcastle. His chequered time up here may still be clouding your vision. Let it go.
  16. It's not though. He's an above average player playing in an utterly dross side. It's just typical of the attitude in this country to give the award to a player that works hard and is 'committed' instead of players who have actual quality and ability to play at the top level. He's not a bad player technically, he's quite good, but he's nowhere near the best player in the league and hasn't been this season. Did you watch the two games inwhich we played West Ham? Both games he was anonymous and was outplayed and out-fought by our midfield. These games are not exceptions to the norm, this is his level for the majority of the season. He has a few moments of quality and is more committed than his teammates and this exaggerates his ability level. Couple this with a squeaky clean reputation, his nationality and the fact he plays for a Laandan club and bang - Player of the b****** Year. So you're saying that Parker has been anonymous, out-played and out-fought for the majority of the season. Wow. strange they've picked up so little points realy, with Scotty Parker apparently bossing the midfield every game. Yep, good logic that. Well done. Is football still 11-a-side? But you claimed he hadn't been anonomous in many games this season, i'm just saying he has. Regardess of whether that is because he has poor performers around him is irrelevant. Er no, my problem was with the ludicrous argument that he has been anonymous, out-thought etc in MOST games this season.

  20. I say otherwise. I'd have him in ahead of Nolan and let him do what he does best - work box to box - with Tiote as holding midfielder. That's with Ben Arfa tucked in behind Shola. The refusal of people on here to accept that Parker has been superb this season is beyond embarrassing.
  21. If he was in any way connected with anyone of note at any Premier League club - anyone within football, anywhere in fact - it wouldn't have taken him until today to get the info he (stupidly) tweeted about that BB bird Imogen.
  22. Marveaux and Larsson two of the out-of-contract players?
  23. Changing tack - and apologies if posted elsewhere - but the MoS have a stats piece today revealing the quickest, slowest and fittest players at each club (based on data from last weekend, I think). Carroll was Liverpool's quickest. So much for lumbering...
