  1. Feels like the fault lies more in the players around him in regard to the quick passing. If teammates were alive to it, could cause a lot of damage.

Getting away from the English managers for the England job - which is perfectly understandable in my view - I do think Tuchel is probably a far better fit for international management than club. His main problem at club level is that he's an arsey cunt who can get into fights with his own shadow given enough time. As an international manager he's not going to be seeing club officials or players that often so less opportunity for conflicts. Add to that, he's actually quite a brilliant coach when the personality stuff is out of the way. I don't really see a downside for England on the pitch.

    St James' Park

It was a state of the art shopping centre of it's time, and everyone loved it. So this is hindsight obviously, but newer shopping centres have roofs which allow light in which makes the experience far nicer. I haven't been there in ages, but pretty sure some of the newer sections of Eldon Square have incorporated this.

Just to be clear, I think skyscrapers can look great if they are done as part of a town or city planning project. Manhattan for example is stunning, or at least it is at night. Just not my thing.

This is me as well. I love the old sandstone architecture that makes up old city centre streets like Grey Street and Grainger town. Eldon Square looks like a monstrosity planted into the middle of it, and blocks the views of the old city to make it worse. But it is a personal take, don't expect everyone to agree with it.

Same here, landscapes are a big thing for me too, and I'm not a fan of huge concrete blocks, although as part of a whole city built like that it can look impressive. Just not my thing.

They are football fans as well though, football people tend to like football stadiums.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

At this stage where we are crippled by PSR, I'm not bothered about selling anyone if we get the right fee. That's saying something as Isak is probably my favourite player, I've waxed lyrical about his finishing since his two goals against Liverpool when he first arrived. Unfortunately it's the only way we can grow unless Man City force the PL to surrender.

I think that's the logic behind this. If we don't win the world cup then it will be back to the English manager drawing board, which in my view is where the long term plan should be.

You're a Newcastle fan, you aren't exactly going to be objective. Take the fan specs off and look at it. It would look more at home at an Industrial park, same as Eldon Square tbh. But that's history now, and also part of being a city centre I guess.
  11. But it does seem to be backed up by the stats (sorry! ). Liverpool and Brighton are the clubs who have gone heavy on the model and they do seem to be more successful in targeting players before they reach peak value.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Well it would have to be a pretty huge fee since he's still got 4 years left on his contract.

Agree with this, although it's probably not a popular opinion among football fans. Having a football stadium bang in the city centre is great for a lot of reasons, but aesthetics isn't one of them.
  14. The problem with this is, matches played between Man U and Barcelona played in New York are not going to generate the same atmosphere they would at Old Trafford or the Nou Camp. There's a reason why the PL is the most popular football league in the world, and a lot of it is down to atmosphere and the pace of the game. Take it out of England and you risk losing that. I still firmly believe the ESL wannabe clubs want to have their cake and eat it. No British club will want to lose their PL status so this is where the PL officials actually have some leverage if they spent less time and money fighting unnecessary legal battles and reminded the cartel clubs where their success has been nurtured.

Very strange appointment tbh. He hasn't done well at club level recently, but he is the inspirational type so I guess it could work at international level. It's exciting anyway, think it might be short but sweet, but it might just work.
  16. Tbh if it saves them £2m a year then it had to be done.
  17. This is the thing. I'm sure we'd have preferred to have kept Minteh and Anderson as well regardless of whether they turn out to be stars or flops, but because of the way PSR is rigged we had to sell someone. Selling Bruno sounds ridiculous currently, but unless we are allowed to invest big money into getting two or three key areas of the squad upgraded within the next 12-24 months we'll be selling him anyway, at diminishing returns depending on when that happens.
  18. I would love that to happen. I would love it to have happened 12 months ago really.
  19. That argument has probably been made a few mies up the road tbh. Swap blue jerseys for red and white striped abominations.
  20. We need the rules to change quite soonish otherwise this is an unfortunate reality.
  21. Yes. This is why we need the PL to be brought to their knees by the Man City court cases. Hopefully the ATP rules being smashed will go some way to persuading our owners that they CAN build a winning NUFC and that will give them the green light to invest in the city with confidence as well.
  22. Said this many times now, but what motive is there to invest in the area for the Saudis if they are not allowed to invest in a winning team which they can be associated with? I always said that for them to do that it would have to be a vanity project, and if you aren't allowed to be winners, then you can understand why it then just becomes an investment. In which case why would you spend a boatload of money on city projects you don't get a return from?
  23. But the top clubs in the English league were always the big pull. How do you translate that to a ESL unless you are still part of the PL as well? If the cartel clubs were to break away and the EPL barred them, it would take away a lot of their appeal in this country. Would they put a large global tv audience as a bigger priority over their national appeal which translates to actual in-stadium experience?
