Well if Cabaye, HBA and N'Zogbia end up in our midfield I suppose we'll just have to bite our tongues and force ourselves to watch. Scant consolation though it will be after losing Nolan.

There's an alternative view that many clubs being run according to football logic are in danger of spiralling into financial meltdown. Liverpool weren't far off until they got bailed out by Hicks and Gillet taking the fall, and Aston Villa have spent a ton of money to go backwards under fans favourite owner Randy Lerner...who kindly charges the club interest on the money he loans.

The only clubs who can pay that sort of fee wouldn't want him imo. Tend to agree, which is one of a number of a reasons why i think he'll still be here next season. I am 95% certain he will be sold. He might be popular at the club but sometimes having too much influence can work against you. If he hasn't got the contract he wants that will make him an unhappy bunny and whether those higher up will want to keep him around rather than get a fee and get him off the wage book ,I have real doubts about that.

I think we might get £4m but I'd be happy enough if we took £3m rather than keep him here. Nolan's been a good pro for us apart from being too fat and probably liking a pint too much, but the Championship or small town premier club is where he belongs. apparently not fashionable but i might agree with this if they had someone good lined to replace him + cabaye if cabaye is the replacement then it's a bit shite as we need quality in numbers, would rather see guthrie and smith leave for fuck and keep nolan if he won't be replaced properly I think we are probably banking on Gosling playing a much bigger role next season, he's a similar type of player. There's always a risk in moving on an influential player but you can't grow as a club without taking calculated risks.

To be fair they're not just your regular 30 and 31 year olds, they're 30 and 31 year olds that have spent their entire careers at Man United. Just look at Ryan Giggs. He's 37, still playing at the top level and been conkers deep in every lass south of the M62. They reak of the kind of signings we've took of those cunts' hands. Been squad players there for years, decent and dependable but now look on the way down. Brown in particular has looked poor for a while. They'll probably be okay signings but I'd rather this was their signings rather than somebody like N'Zog.. Plus anyone who leaves Man U always feels it's a step down...and going to Sunderland isn't so much a step as like falling off a ladder into a steaming pile of shit. Can't see them being too motivated.

That's what I thought on reading the same words posted elsewhere.

Incentive based I would imagine. At that level he is very effective.

Makes you wonder why they don't throw in sneaky bids for Nolan and Barton seeing as how some fans seem convinced they are fantastic value at any price.
-
I think the whole world will be surprised how good Jose is attacking-wise if he goes to Barca. At Newcastle we don't have the movement to make the most of of his skill which is why he sometimes loses the ball when he ends up in a tight spot. At Barcelona he will be the ultimate defender.
-
He just pays the managers far more than a club like Fulham should be paying. Jol isn't going to achieve anything other than a nice salary and a London address. Waste of a good manager but then if he's happy with putting his feet up good luck to him.
-
I'd rather not wait a year for someone we could kind of do with right now. If his price is £9m I don't think we should pay £12m just because their owner is a twat. Zog's not the type to take any shit so I can see him kicking up a fuss if none of the top 4 come in. Wigan will have to sell in any case.
-
Sign him next year and let Wigan lose the fee.
-
Ashley and Llambias We salute you.

Personally I'm delighted that Nolan got greedy and it's ended up blowing up in his face as I don't think he is good enough for a club like this. Interesting to hear that Blackburn are favourites to sign him as that is exactly the type of team which he should be at. A nice homely club without any aspirations other than to survive. There's not a chance in hell Villa will buy him, that's for sure.
-
Barton won't leave because he's not going to get a similar contract at a club like this one...or probably any club for that matter. As long as he continues to give 100% and doesn't rock the boat I'm more than happy with that.
-
We couldn't keep Owen here despite pleas from Keegan to offer him a contract so massive he couldn't turn us down. Does that make him a mercenary cunt or just a happy bench warmer?
-
According to some people that know him from Wood Green (where he was raised up) He's on 15k a week. Are we allowed to accept hearsay on Ranger's wages when so many have taken offense at assuming Barton and Nolan's demands based on pure speculation?
-
Dalglish the daft cunt bought Gary Speed to play on the left wing. Let's see if our scouse mates are singing his praises next season.
-
Shifting deadwood sounds like a great idea in theory. When was the last time we shifted any?
-
I think we will as well. There's not just the Carroll money but the tv money to come in as well. Ashley can spend big and still have change left over. I'm not dumb enough to ignore past history here but he's rarely been in a position like this where he doesn't have to find money from his own pocket.
-
He was suspended for the playoff final. Still has a 1 match ban to serve actually. Yeah he's ok. Had a slow start then got used to the Championship but then he got injured so he was out for a few weeks. Played well then the rest of the season until he got sent off at Forest. Who would you liken him to? Is he better at going forward or defending? Not sure who I'd liken him too but he is quick. Later on in the season he got further forward more and linked with Sinclair well. If he came to you would he be likely to play? Depends if Enrique's on his bike or not. He'd be stupid to go to you if he wasn't going to play. He's got more of a chance of playing here. Money will no doubt be a factor though. Bassong came here as a nobody and a season or two down the line was playing CL football for Spurs after we sold him for £8m. If Enrique leaves he'll get his opportunity.
