It's why I'm watching what happens here until the window closes. I don't care if he refuses to train or hands in a transfer request. Unless Liverpool show they have the money it takes then he should be going nowhere. Keep him locked up in the reserves for all I care. I reckon he'll sharp see things differently once the window closes anyway.

He is top class as well. If you ignore the age he'll be in 2 years time, sides will fear coming up against him. I know I was always wary when we played them, he scored a screamer against us iirc.
-
I know absolutely zilch about him tbh, but I want him anyway.
-
It's what makes this place what it is tbh.

Which they won't, the thieving bastards.

If Spurs come in on the quiet to steal Wissa then it would be the straw that broke the camel's back for what passes as our recruitment team. There hasn't even been much talk about Wissa going to Spurs so would mean there's a leak somewhere from our end.
-
If he's turned down Spurs then he's probably pretty fixed on Juve tbf. Let's hoy all our eggs in the Samu basket I say.
-
Yep. This is the real list right here.

I don't understand these folk. In a summer of misery you take even a temporary fix while you can. Ornstein said he might be coming here. That's good enough for me.
-
Reel him in Andy. Time to kick that sand back in the faces of the nepotism skeptics!
-
Why not? We can live in make believe world for at least 12 hours I reckon.
-
Well the twitter rumours are picking up anyway.
-
That's how it stands at the moment. EDIT: thought this was the Wissa thread

I think they are cock a hoop because they feared we might become the biggest club in England when the Saudis first took over. Now they see how the PL has managed to shackle us and put us in a cage, they are lining up to take shots at us. Why not, they know we can't hit back tbh.

I agree, and Isak is one of the best strikers I've seen playing for us in our lifetime. But you have to learn to detach yourself from it, we've seen our superstars leave forever, including local heroes like Waddle, Beardsley and Gascoigne. They all left to earn more money and to join bigger clubs. There's no point in getting too wound up over it. If we can get another season out of him and he gives his all, that would be a win for me. Unless we get an adequate replacement I don't really see past that at the moment.

I find it really heartening that there's a top striker out there holding out for a move to Newcastle.
-
No one should ever go somewhere they don't want to to pursue their profession, but it really is infuriating seeing other clubs manage to offload players in their prime to the Saudi league and cashing in. Darwin Nunez and Jao Felix ffs? Could they really not have found a club in a more competitive European league to rebuild their careers?
-
We really need to detach from this idea that the SPL is somehow linked to our fortunes. They have their own objectives as a venture, same as any other football league, and the results would be the same whether they owned NUFC or not.
-
Also, as bad as it looks right now, a couple of decent signings in the next week or two would make it look a lot better.

If we were able to follow that same trajectory like Chelsea, Man City and PSG, you can bet your bottom dollar that we'd be a lot more successful chasing top player signatures than we have been. Bigger salaries and knowing you are joining a team that is going to win stuff is what every aspiring footballer wants to be a part of. The cartel know this, and that is why rules were brought in to stop us dead in our tracks before we built any momentum.
