I always thought he had a decent all round game, not the worst finisher either. Just a bit too nice for the PL maybe.

Football success obviously counts for plenty. I doubt anybody would have described Liverpool as a desirable destination before the Shankly/Paisley era.
-
It's not really. London and the Midlands are significantly more multicultural than the North East, although the gap has closed a bit. That doesn't necessarily matter much to everyone, but sometimes it does, especially for those who don't know much about this part of the world. Personally I'm not a fan of London, but for people who haven't been here much, maybe London just seems more glamorous.

No I'm not. That's why I asked for your reasoning why they might be such a problem beyond their recent results, e.g., players who might give us a problem due to specific attributes such as pace or set pieces. Think of Forest and Palace who regardless of their results have players who can clearly hurt us.
-
You were just looking at recent results without knowing anything about their team so that wasn't solid reasoning, it was just guesswork really.

TCD knows ball mind, wouldn't want to question his footy analysis.

Will always be a legend for having the best home made fan video ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r9oQke56H4&ab_channel=NUFCEdits

Agree, would much rather he stayed at West Ham as I don't particularly like him or the club. A match made in heaven as far as I was concerned.
-
Just merge this back into the Transfer Rumours thread and chuck a one week ban @Jack27 just to rein him in next time he gets the itch to start a new thread.
-
His close control is also suspect, hence why he struggled so much under Palace's high press when he was asked to play wing back. He does have a very good delivery into the box though, decent enough as a squad player.
-
Not sure Ten Hag will be going anywhere next season tbh. I can't see Sir Jim Ratshit needlessly wasting money sacking and hiring new staff unless he's convinced it will make him money. Plus Ten Hag will probably fall in line with having less say in the transfer business as he's desperate to keep his reputation intact, and for that he'll not want to fail at Man U.
-
With all our players coming back from injury, the squad doesn't really look awful for next season does it? You could argue we should continue our policy of only landing long term targets if they become available. Obviously if we can get Tosin that will go a long way to solving our CB crisis, then we still need a keeper and maybe a RW. Nothing is really desperate though, we could conceivably hold onto our players and go again, then spend the money when PSR isn't so restrictive.
-
I think he single handedly turned what was heading to be 5 or 6-0 into 4-1.
-
If we sell him in the summer and get good money for him, it will be good business, let's be honest. But even if we don't and he plays his final season, it's not exactly heart breaking is it? We'll still have two of the best strikers in the league in our team. Can't really lose with this one.
-
Put him on the for sale list, we don't need him.
-
Well here comes Isak's obligatory goal.
-
Wouldn't have it any other way tbh. N-O moaners zindabad.
-
Just when you finally get over him and get ready to see him get his taxi back south, he turns in a performance like he's still a 25 year old hitman. Bastard.
-
Must admit I was a bit dubious about putting two strikers on the pitch, my instinct would have been keep one on the bench to bring on if we needed, but once we got a hold of the midfield and actually started bringing Wilson and Isak into play, they really gave the Burnley defence a going over. We got better and better as the game went on.
-
Yep, played a nice reverse pass in the build up to the first goal. He's looked much more positive today.
-
That's why they're addicts, most of them are beyond reason and logic.
-
Yep. No one is going to pay good money for someone who will be 34 next season. The upside is, even if we don't get £12m or so, he is still at least a fabulous footballer so we will still have a very good player for next season. To a lesser degree it's the same for Callum Wilson. Wilson is more injury prone so I think most would be far happier to see him sold.
-
I thought the same thing tbh, seems far too good already to not be an asset in our squad. Especially considering the sort of has-beens from the championship who will still probably be hanging around.

"Close to signing" when it can't officially be sealed until June seems premature to me like. Especially if there is other clubs still sniffing and the player's representative hasn't ruled them out.
