Think it was just too early for a thread tbh. Obviously we are leading the chase, but that's not stopping other clubs coming in and stealing the deal before June.
-
Arsenal obviously would like him, they are using their mouthpiece media to try to unsettle him. Part of their long game of knocking the price down well before the bid actually comes in Sir Jim Ratshit-style.
-
This is the ideal signing tbh, especially given the PSR situation. If it comes off it just shows how good our team is these days without Garden Man Dan.
-
Honestly, the vibes I'm getting so far is a slimline bearded version of Mike Ashley. Comes across as really tight if the derisory offer of £2m for Ashworth is to believed, and so far the main talk from Manchester is about selling not buying players.
-
So far they seem to be going the other way, offering stupid money to our rivals for players ready for the knackers yard. I expect they'll already be bombarding the bemused Liverpool hierarchy with unofficial £100m bids for Salah.
-
Agree tbh. I just don't think there's any way we can get the stadium we need without moving given the building restrictions in surrounding areas. While it's been fantastic having the ground smack bang in the city centre for so long, if it's going to stop us building a stadium which will be able to match the cartel clubs income wise, then I'd rather move.

Eddie seemed very keen on him at the time so I still think there might be a player in there. I was pretty disappointed when it didn't happen, but couldn't have turned out much better in hindsight with Isak arriving eventually instead.
-
I think the British courts bailed them out during the Hicks and Gillett ownership fiascoas well, Liverpool is too much of an institution to be allowed to go to the dogs.
-
I questioned it at the time because I thought £12m for a player who would be 34 in the summer was too good to turn down. I still think he's a fantastic player though, I just know we'll never get that money again, and I think sentiment will affect our spending in the next couple of windows. Ideally we wouldn't need to sell anyone, we could just invest in our club how we see fit. That way players like Trippier, Longstaff and Miggy could be seen as squad assets instead of a drag on our resources.
-
As long as they can get ahead far enough not to be threatened beyond the odd season or two of freak results, I doubt they'll lose any sleep over it. Just seems like a token pretence of fair play without actually roping the cartel clubs in any meaningful way.

He won't be accepted any more than Moyes has been accepted by West Ham fans. That sort of football has a ceiling, and it's not particularly good to watch.
-
All that really suggests is that they are probably better organised than previously so it might be a harder grind. The reason I was wondering about specifics is because if they don't have much pace up front, that means our back line will probably find it a bit easier. The teams which have given us the most problems have been those with real pace like Forest, Fulham and Palace. Results themselves only tell you so much, a lot depends on how their team can target our weaknesses and vice versa.
-
Yet when I asked you what specifically it is about their team we should be worried about you said nothing. Are you just looking at a couple of results or do you actually think they have players who can hurt us?
-
That's what I see as well. His touch seems a bit heavy at times, but then from nowhere he can produce some real skill. Still looks quite raw which is fair enough, he's still developing.
-
What is it we should be worried about specifically? I don't really pay much attention to them so not that well informed.
-
Don't think Klopp will ever manage in England again tbh, he's too firmly established as an honorary scouse cunt. Maybe if his reputation falls off a cliff like Benitez, then he could make a lower profile re-entry, so I guess you can never say never.
-
Another tricky fixture negotiated by City. They always seem to find a way even when they don't look that convincing.
-
Not compared to the other games we've got left. We need to find a way to win.
-
It is getting a bit tedious reading about how he might need to leave when he seems to make a point of kissing his badge or geeing up supporters every game. Is it really all based on that one Darren Eales interview?
-
I agree mostly. While they seem to be in reasonably good form, I just think with our front three and Bruno, we should be able to find a way to bring all the points home. It's not like they have much up front which should cause us sleepless nights. We just need to work out a gameplan which will release our speedy front men and get in behind them. Playing away from home shouldn't make that much difference if we can execute properly.

The perfect candidate already exists!

Not great hearing that, but if you keep losing possession, the groans are going to start getting louder. No need for dogs abuse though, that's not helping anyone.
-
I've no doubt he'd love to stay, but we need to be playing CL football, and we'll need to match the wages he'd get at one of the mega clubs sooner rather than later.
-
I thought he got plenty of credit, him and Isak were a big reason we got into the CL. He got a contract extension on the back of it.

We can also do most teams when we click. This is where Eddie has to earn his rep.
