I think the conditions might have had something to do with the poor set pieces. Every time he swung a boot at the ball there seemed to be a gallon of water sloshing into the air.
  2. Williamson moving to Fenham...love it

I thought he looked canny last night, he can spot a clever pass which is handy in our team where we have had a succession of plodders over the years. I don't think he's good enough for the premier though. He wants too much time on the ball and lacks pace. If we are going to use that type of player next season I'd prefer it to be Barton if I'm honest. Maybe they could play together but I'd prefer at least one player in the middle who can motor a bit.
  4. Monday because it would be great to do it in front of our own fans.
  5. He's been trying to get the thread closed for ages for some unknown reason, though to be fair, I do think it's been pretty much covered. The people who are definitely wrong are those who claim Ashley has so far done a grand job, he's done a shite job, however, he did the right things in January after 2 1/2 years of getting it hopelessly wrong. There is still a fair bit to go for him to show he's getting it right and wants to take the club forward. No one then. I would say the people who have got it most wrong are those supposedly interested in buying the club when they wouldn't cough up the money for a relegated club. When it was time to put up or shut up they slunk away like mice.
  6. I know this, but I get annoyed when people don't offer constructive criticism and spout what seems to be unjustified bollocks for god knows what reason. Shola can be feckless, he lacks desire and he's injury prone. But he does have good feet and the finishing ability isn't a fluke. He's scored some belters this season and it just shows there IS ability there even if other things are missing.
  7. Yep. No one will convince me that Nolan isn't carrying excess weight which he could lose if he changed his diet/lifestyle. I don't know what he eats (or drinks which might have a more significant bearing) but the double chin isn't genetic.
  8. Just a word for Nolan...I've laid into him from day one but he's actually a very good player technically, far better than I realised. Which is why it's such a disgrace he's allowed himself to slip to such a poor level of fitness at what should be the prime of his age. We won't be able to carry him in the premier so we should thank him for his services and sell in the summer.
  9. I don't know if it's Hughton, Calderwood or Nolan who is the driving force but one thing stood out for me last night and it was our relentless desire to put Forest down for the count. They battled hard but we just kept going at them till the last minute., After last season's abject surrender it was a privelege to watch and while it will be different in the premier I don't have any real fears because the side is clearly being well led.
  10. If Perch is an indication of Hughton's eye for a player I'm well impressed. He was outstanding against Jonas last night.
  11. He probably doesn't want to lose his teeth is my guess. How many players lose their teeth during a match like? It's hardly common. obviously gumshields were a pointless invention then.
  12. I don't think he only cares about football, I think he cares about the club. So much so, he can't bear to be away from SJP? Would explain our poor away performances like. Or maybe the players he had to work with had something to do with it? The football I saw today was light years away from the start of the season but maybe Hughton's just massively lucky. 'light years away' It was a good result but let's not brush over the fact we were s*** for the first hour. I must have imagined the reaction to the first half from myself and the people around me. We didn't look like scoring, couldn't stay on our feet, kept giving the ball away and seemed intent on not running into space. It was like a different team after Shola's goal. Maybe you should pay less attention to the plebs sat around you and actually watch the game yourself...assuming you aren't one of the plebs it should be said in all fairness.
  13. You might be the only one surprised in all fairness.

Did you bring a packed lunch and a flask of hot tea?
  15. Where is Boyd right now then? Heading for a top club I assume given your endorsement.

  17. Nolan was one of our better performers today tbf. No he wasn't, but he did show that there is quality there beneath the rolls of fat he's accumulated. A wasted talent if ever there was one.
  18. http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?p=998722#post998722 This was the most satisfying one tbh.
  19. We can sign him for nothing in the summer. If Ken Bates even resembled a human being he'd probably realise what a twat he's been but as he isn't it doesn't really matter.
  20. For those who have described Shola as being a donkey, I'd be interested to hear their view on his sublime contributions to tonight's win. My God the control and finish for the first goal and the backheel for the second were works of art.
  21. I haven't felt this proud of a Newcastle team since Keegan's side murdered Spurs. Everyone was sensational, even the lads like Gutierrez who had a frustrating night going forward made up for it by running his heart out for the team. Absolutely overjoyed right now.
  22. How will Forest stem the tide? If they block Carroll, Loven is in! If they stop Loven Carroll will smash their defence..! "Forest are in disarray!" we will exclaim joyfully!
  23. I don't know why Ashley decided to buy Newcastle but I wouldn't have thought it was just to avoid relegation season after season. He's not short of a few bob, he could try investing a decent wedge and enjoy competing in the right half of the table.
  24. I'm genuinely bemused by it. I literally couldn't give a flying fuck about them so seeing their hatred is a bit strange. Oh well. I normally can't be arsed with that sort of stuff but after watching them bait Phil K I couldn't resist registering and having a pop.
