    RIP sale thread.

Would people be happy with that. If it meant Shearer in and funds being made available then i would. I'll comment on that when there's some sort of confirmation that it's happening, at the moment I don't know what to believe.
  2. If Man u fail to win the title and I think they will after losing Ronaldo and Tevez, Owen will cop the blame from the Man U fans. If Owen thought he was miserable here he'll be sick of his life by the end of this season.

Maybe if we were currently lying at the bottom of the table he would accept even a lower offer to sell. Theres no offers though. So whats he going to do? bring in a partner or keep the club. Take aside all the published bullshit offers and theres no concrete offers on the table, despite thommo and the rest of the done deal briggade. From what weve seen it likely to be Moat-Ashley partnership hence the handshake bullshit at the matches. How do you know there are no concrete offers? Is that a fact? thats a fact until proven otherwise... It's your opinion until proven otherwise. If an offers made its either accepted or rejected. Have we accepted or rejected any offer? There is no scope for negotiation?

  6. Taylor's on a canny wedge for a young player, wouldn't surprise me if Everton couldn't agree terms. They have a fairly strict wage structure.

No need, you've summed it up quite nicely right there.
  8. Moyes is an absolute crackhead. he's been shown up as an absolute amateur. This was a great chance to get money that was way over what Lescott was worth and hence been able to invest it all in the team and he has blown it completely. When you consider Everton don't have much money either it really is insane. Man City were desperate and Everton could have probably even got one of Dunne, Kompany, Zabaleta or Onuoha in return along with some money. This summer we've seen Wenger allow Toure and Adebayor to leave when the money got silly and we've even seen Ronaldo been allowed to leave when the money got silly. It's freakin' Joleon Lescott for crying out loud! £20 million! Epic fail Moyes. I have to agree. The money was good enough at £18m never mind £20m. The transfer will probably still go through but City might get the fee down a bit now that Everton failed to grasp the initial opportunity.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Geremi is just too slow - Nolan's not a bad player, we just need to get him fit. He shouldn't be near the first team squad if he's not fit...and he clearly isn't.
  10. I have a feeling as soon as Smith reverts to a striker he's going to look useless again. Defensive midfield is the only position you can put someone who doesn't create or score goals.

Love the spin that it's Moat's side that has not fulfilled their side of the deal. The reality is that Ashley has priced himself out of a sale.
  12. I thought Butt was looking at his "options" after being told to drive to Manchester to get treatment for his hand? If his thumb is mended I suggest he uses it to hitch a lift and fuck off out of Newcastle.
  13. If we start Nile Ranger instead of Nolan we have a great chance of winning. If we play for safety with a 5 man midfield we'll probably get a safe draw.
  14. Enjoy the "loyalty" of Man U fans you over-paid relegating cunt.

If Ashley manages to appoint a reputable manager under his contsraints I suppose you'll have a point.
  16. I don't even rate Taylor as highly as some do here but when you consider him and Bassong were young hopefuls starting regularly in our back four last season it's pretty staggering that they are now both as good as gone. It's not like they were massive wage burdens either.

If Ashley was as good at trimming fat as he is at trimming wage bills he'd be quite a svelte chap.

This is the downside of a couple of good results, In Ashley-Land everything's plain sailing from here on. Don't you think our unexpected good start to the season might have tempered Ashley's enthusiasm to sell? That's what I'm saying, I had a feeling this would happen. The fat jelly bean doesn't know whether to stick or twist.

  21. He did? Was he on the pitch? Guthrie has to play. Yep. Final piece of the jigsaw once fit. We could do with a right winger if we are talking about final pieces in jigsaws. Yesterday we played a right back there, and on saturday a central midfielder.
  22. This will probably be a scrappy game between two physical sides. Nolan's lack of mobility shouldn't be exposed as much as the ball won't be played on the deck. We need the midfielders to start chipping in with some goals if we are going to keep winning.

    Steve Harper

It's also the last thing which is likely to happen. No one wants Steve Harper as far as I know. If made available I could easily see 2-3 prem clubs such as Hull take a punt. Why don't they take a punt then? Everyone's up for sale if you hadn't noticed.
